1. When I lived in Mississauga
we had one...it was 5:30am, and nobody else I knew was awake at the time.

I felt it - thought it was an airplane overhead, and later heard it on the news.

2. apparently we do get them in Canada (small ones)
I think the paper said about 15 times a year or so...
Actually I was mistaken the earthquake was 2.7.
Read the article today. :)

3. we had one during a geology class!
It was in a big lecture theatre at McMaster in Hamilton, in the 1980s. It felt like someone was kicking the back of my seat -- I turned around and nobody was there! The prof, who suspected what had happened but was unable to confirm it until after class, used it as a chance to talk about "isostatic rebound" the following lecture.

4. I'm in Oakville...
but was at work in Mississauga when it happened, so I missed it.

My kids felt it at school, tho.
