Beautiful!
Class act, that!
And FUN, too!
Kudos to whoever thought that up ~ presumably the guy at centre ice singing the anthems ~ very powerful image and message when he just holds up his mic and lets the crowd take over to do the honours .... and of course, Edmonton won the game and advanced to the final that night.
There's something to be said for the power of motivation, after all, and I can't help but think that the team was even more motivated than ever after that opening :)
:woohoo:

2. Sadly, they'll be way too much out of practice when the final starts. |
|
I fear that this will cost them greatly.

Class show for Canada...
Beat that US hockey fans
Mind you in all fairness singing the 3 octave-shattering Star Spangled Banner is tougher than getting a puck past Roloson (Boo-Yah!!)
And Bonus High-Five to the Sabres staying alive. :toast:
Why cheer for the Sabres?
Because as of this writing, there are tickets still available in Raleigh for the Seventh Game in the eastern conference final.
Why does the NHL bother and why do they make so many excuses for their utterly failed strategy of promoting hockey in the southern United States.
They got no ice, they got no skates, they got no heart and their brains have been damaged from all those NASCAR fumes...why bother?
