Parole board...serial killer Clifford Olson
Parole board to hold hearing for serial killer Clifford Olson

MONTREAL (Jul 11, 2006)

Serial killer Clifford Olson will appear before a national parole board hearing next week.

Olson, who in 1982 admitted slaying eight boys and three girls ranging in age from nine to 18 in British Columbia, will have served 25 years of his life sentence next month. The 66-year-old is now eligible for parole and entitled to a hearing every two years.

A three-member parole board panel will hear Olson's application on July 18 at the federal prison in Ste-Anne-des-Plaines, Que., just north of Montreal, where he's currently jailed.

1. He won't get out, this is merely a process hearing, he's entitled to
it and the board is entitled to say NO friggin way do you get out.

2. He should NEVER get out.
I know it's a formality, they have to do it. I just feel bad for the families of his victims. Many of them will show up at the hearings. To have to live it and then face it, time after time must be so very hard on them.

3. I am against the death penalty but I am very much in favour of a
life sentence actually meaning life behind bars without the possibility of parole for those like Olson, Homolka, Bernardo, etc.

If we had life without the possibility of parole, the families of their victims would not have to be put through the horror of dealing with these cretins and the thoughts that they may get out, sadly, with Homolka, that is already the horror.

4. I totally agree.
And she gets the priviledge of living out her life in a cool city, with an identity not many are aware of. Few rules and regulations. It makes me sick.
My best friends daughter was murdered, he got life, pleaded down and got manslaughter, he'll be out soon, living in their community, picking on young girls again.

I don't believe in the death penalty either.
