Prime Minister:

Can anyone find ANY mention of the loss of Canadian lives in the Middle East? Anything other than RAH, RAH, Stephen Harper, YEAH, ain't he great!

APPALLING, DISGUSTING!

Edited to add this article, it is a good read, imo. This little tidbit sums up Harper in all his "glory", imo:

snip

"During the two-day summit, Harper asked Putin at a bilateral photo opportunity to "explain to me how to maintain my popularity at high levels."

and this one:

"Harper's seeming lack of nuance, empathy and people skills are making his week-long diplomatic foray, which included a visit to Britain before attending his first G8 meeting, an excruciating exercise."

1. I find Harper so abominable...I despise him even more than Mulroney.
At least Mulroney projected a little warmth. This man is just a cold, self-important, self-promoting control freak. Speaking of the government web page. You notice how they refer to themselves always as the "new Canadian government?" He's constantly trying to remind Canadians what a "corrupt" (according to him) government the Liberals ran. It's another page out of the George Bush book. Bush blames everything on Clinton.

2. I can't say I despise him more than Mulroney but he certainly is
equal in his ability to make me gag at the mere sight of his face or sound of his voice. I suspect, though, before he is out on his ass, he may well surpass my feelings for Mulroney in that regard.

3. Official government pages are supposed to be corny like this...

...because it's just propoganda. It doesn't matter whose in or doing it.

The only thing I find intresting is that he uses Red, White AND Blue. Blue isn't an official Canadian colour. I like the colour blue, it's nice, but it's bizzare in this context. If I was running the Canadian government I wouldn't insist upon it's usage. It seems American. Seriously, even the white in the flag has a blue tint to it.

4. That's not accurate, I can distinctly remember going to the
government site to read the statements of previous Prime Ministers on various tragedies, various crises. When there is no death of Canadians, no crisis, then, yes, the web pages are full of happy, happy, joy, joy, how great I am stuff but no acknowledgement of the death of Canadians, the current Middle East crisis is NOT the usual pattern, imo.
