Chinese head tax paperwork creates confusion (D'oh!)
A B.C. advocate for a group of elderly Chinese Canadians complains that the application forms for Chinese head tax redress are only available in French and English, but not in Chinese.

The forms were made available earlier this week, as part of the recent federal government agreement to pay $20,000 to people who paid the tax.

Grace Schenkeveld of the B.C. Coalition of Head Tax Payers says she was fielding calls all day Thursday from Chinese seniors confused with the paperwork.

"This is a form of respect," she told CBC News. "If it's in their home language, then you really do understand them, and I feel that right now doesn't really understand them."
