I have a free 24 hours in Toronto Canada and a rental car
Mind you, I'll be in Toronto all week so I'm sure I'll hit most of the touristy things as I can during that week, but for 1-day I'd like to take the rental car and drive somewhere interesting that's about 2 hours away from Toronto (but still in Canada)

I was thinking of Niagara Falls, but now I was looking at some of the parks north of Toronto.

Recommendations plz.

BTW, I think on my last night in Toronto I'm going to get tickets for Canadian Football.

3. but seriously
Drive to the Bruce Peninsula. Not quite 300 km from Toronto to Tobermory, at the end of the peninsula -- just under 200 miles, through rural Ontario. If you started really early, you could even take the ferry over to Manitoulin Island.

Go to google maps, ask for tobermory ontario canada, zoom out til you see Toronto. Get driving directions from Toronto.

Just about the same distance from Toronto as Algonquin Park, but a little more interesting, if you ask me. ;)

My mother's grandparents first immigrated from England to Owen Sound, a small town near the base of Bruce Peninsula on the Georgian Bay side. We summer holidayed farther up the peninsula when I was a kid. When I was in university, my then co-vivant and I borrowed the station wagon and went to Tobermory, and I fell down the cliff.

One stop shopping. If you felt like spending a night, you could get something pretty reasonable this time of year I expect; motels all over the place.

The ferry:

But heck, everybody should see Niagara Falls. ;)

5. Drive to the Niagara Penninsula
and forget the falls. Sure it's a natural wonder and all that, but it's also very touristic.

The Niagara escarpment -- from the QEW North as far as you want to go -- is lovely.

The Tobermory suggestion was also good, but it's a long way there and back.

6. If I go to the Bruce Pennisula it won't be all the way to Tobermory
I'm sure I can find interesting places to visit closer to the other end.

I have to be back in Toronto sunday night for the start of my class
