Political Blogs and the Election
It's rather a disappointment to see what "citizen journalism" has become in the current election.

Canadian political bloggeries are just one big "gotcha" yellow journalism machine, focused either on trivial errors and "horse race" coverage.

They are as blindly partisan as the tiresome "talking head" political panels on TV and radio, and have basically adopted all the worst traits of MSM in their election coverage.

I daresay the MSM is actually doing MORE issue coverage and analysis than all the blogs put together.

Sad, really. Citizen journalism held the promise of offering a new window into politics where real issues and real people would matter. It isn't happening.
