OTTAWA — The federal government announced this morning it will unveil its budget Jan 27, as the NDP and Liberals continued to discuss the possibility of forming a coalition to take down Stephen Harper's Conservative government.
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty made the announcement on CTV's Question Period this morning as the government continued to face a crisis that could see it defeated as early as one week from tomorrow.
Moments later, Minister of Transport John Baird said the government would not eliminate the right to strike for federal civil servants, as pledged last week.
Mr. Flaherty said the budget will be presented the day after Parliament returns from its holiday break.
