ATM gives customers Canadian Tire money

MONCTON - A CIBC cash machine started dispensing Canadian Tire money at a mall outside of Moncton, New Brunswick.

Kayla Peters, 16, said she was shocked when she withdrew $60 on Nov. 29. She received two $20 bills and two $2 bills in Canadian Tire money.

3. When you buy something at Canadian Tire,
which is a hardware store chain, you get some Canadian Tire money you can redeem later. It's the subject of much Canuck-style humour. It's always a larf when your friend opens his wallet and there's only Canadian Tire money there.

10. better than green stamps, eh?

We had 'em too. That's how I got my bride doll when I was wee, from Loblaws.

But you don't have to lick Canadian Tire money.

And you don't have to carry around a "points" card, or remember your points number, and keep track of them. Just shove the Canadian Tire in your pocket, shove it in a drawer when you get home, and one day take it out and shove it back in your pocket and go buy a ladder. ;)

8. what??
Two $20s and *two* Cdn Tire $2s??

If it had been *ten* Cdn Tire $2s, to make up the actual $60, most people wouldn't have minded. ;)

I have a fine multi-formation step ladder (the kind that flips up to become an extension ladder) that I bought with the $70 I'd saved up a few years ago. All the neighbours love to borrow it.

I have about $100 in the stuff at the moment, finally assembled in one place from the litter that was dredged out of various countertop and tabletop piles in a recent redecoration of the kitchen. Including about $20 that was on the floor and thus, naturally, was peed on by a cat or two. No amount of vinegar and water washing has removed the odour. I figure I'll staple it together, fanned out, by denomination, and pack it in ziplock bags, and give it to the cashier that way when I go to do the xmas shopping ...

11. Now that illustrates why we don't want machines to count the vote
in Canada.

12. My husband is crazy for Canadian Tire money
we call it his "happy money." He saves it up for his toys all the time and takes it out and counts it. Its so funny.
