Black and Frum simultaneously praise Canada's economic position on NP today.
Within a half-hour of each other. Harper asking for favours, I imagine.

David Frum: 'Ottawa, not Washington, that has met this crisis best'

Conrad Black: Canada's resilience is invisible only to Canadians

1. LOL, they are right but our position is in SPITE OF harper....
not because of him and his cabal. It is due to policies and actions taken by Liberals.

2. Yes, I've noticed Harper has tried to take credit
for everything from the 1930's backing of our banking system, to the Liberal elimination of the deficit in the 90s.

Anything to distract from the fact that Harper blew years of surpluses on wild, irresponsible spending, and never thought of the future and a possible rainy day.

3. Reform/Conservatives wanted to deregulate the banks
If they would have had their way, we would be just as bad off as the U.S. banks, probably worse.

4. Exactly! I read somewhere where the harper cabal had started loosening the regs....
but pull back sharply because the real estate/bank/market bubble was beginning to burst. If it not for the timing of the bubble burst we would be where the US is today.
