Stevie Harper is the King of Smarm.....and here's why....
In his interviews since Obama was here in Canada, Harper has actually had the nerve to smilingly insist that he was stymied in his attempts to promote green policies by George Bush's administration. Everyone knows that he was willingly lock-step with Bush in all his right wing policies. What is surprising, is that I'm finally seeing our journalists point out his lies! I saw a couple of them yesterday. One was Susan (can't remember her last name, but I've seen her often on TV) talking on a panel on CBC. She said Harper was lying and that he was throwing Bush under the bus when he had actually been lock-step (she used that phrase) with him.
I wonder if our brave media is going to finally get some backbone and tell it like it is when it comes to Harper who seems to be trying to rewrite history?
Before Harper was elected, I waited for the media to mention the fact that he had gone on Fox TV to apologize for Canada not joining Bush's war on Iraq....but they never did. I believe that if the general public had been aware of that fact, he never would have been Prime Minister!

1. Are you thinking of Chantal Hebert?
She used the bush-under-the-bus metaphor on the most recent At Issue.

2. I missed Chantal's broadcast.........but I'm glad she said it!
The Susan I saw was another woman....around 35 or so....brown hair...brown eyes. I wish I could remember her last name.

3. I watched the press conference and had to pick my chin up off the floor....
There was harper using our healthcare system as a positive example when talking about the differences in the two stimulus packages when there is nothing his party would like better than to destroy that very same system.

Add to that the incredible hypocrisy he displayed when talking about climate change, NOW it is a major concern yet, again, his party has done nothing but trivialize it and demonize those who tried to bring that very concern to the fore.

Despicable hypocrite.
