2. I'm tired of hearing the U.S.A will protect us from our enemies! |
|
Bush said,"Why are we paying to defend Canada?"...I ask, from whom? So far as I can see, we don't have any enemies...And as for Ambassador Cellucci who said "the U.S. is optimistic Canada will sign on to the missile defence plan before the end of March."....It's long past time he butted out of our affairs!...Ever since Bush made him the Ambassador to Canada, he has been crossing our country lecturing us on how we should behave....

4. I am concerned about some backroom deals |

It just seems strange to me that in the span of about 2 weeks four reports came out in the Canadian media. First was the Cellucci comment about being optimistic that Canada will sign on for MDS: http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/01/09/missile-cellucci050109.htmlThen there was the naming of Frank McKenna, Carlyle Group Fart-catcher, as the next ambassador to the US: http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/01/05/mckenna-ambassador050105.htmland the apparent revelation: http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/01/14/mckenna-announce050114.htmland now the bullying (broken by the Wash. Post): http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/01/24/bush-martin050124.htmlI'm a little concerned. Are you, or am I just being paranoid?

which are increasingly frequent, I simply assume it's a done deal, whatever the neature of the deal turns out to be. But who knows; maybe MArtin isn't the lickspittle we all assume him to be. At least he's sticking to his guns on the gay marriage thing.

3. Let's hope they don't cave |

It says they're expected to sign on in March but maybe... just maybe Martin can get support from other foreign leaders to stand up to the bully. They're basically forcing an unproven, expensive defense system on the Canadian people. I'm just glad it's not too far to the border from Minneapolis in case I ever feel the need to defect!
