What about the "Canadian Coalition for Democracies"?
I stumbled upon this group when doing a search on Carolyn Parrish. Their message board is a real fright. It is managed by a paranoid. Careful going over there and posting, they have technology to block your access if you say anything that disputes their world view.

4. watch that moonbat stuff
It'll kinda pigeonhole you, I suspect.

Do a 3-day search for it at DU. You'll find the one and only other time I'd heard the word. You'll take my point.

Oh, and then ask google for moonbat "fox news", and it should be even plainer. ;)

1. Barking Moonbat Of The Year (Individual)
-- Michael Moore has a commanding lead with John Kerry a distant second (here we go again)

2. Barking Moonbat Of The Year (Organization)
-- The United Nations continues to dominate with a strong challenge by the Democratic Party (what a pair of boobies!)

3. Barking Moonbat Of The Year (Country)
-- France blows .... everybody else away with 77% of the vote (Mon Dieu!)

4. Barking Moonbat Of The Year (Blog)
-- Democratic Underground and MoveOn.Org are fighting it out toe to toe (stinky toes at that) ...
Dang, no honourable mention of us, even.

Dean's World commentor Adam, from the blog Words Mean Things, is sick of the term "moonbat." Even though I use the term pretty often, I can't say that I blame him ... but I also can't think of any other left-wing slurs. So I have a three-part challege:

1. Can anyone discuss the etymology of the term "moonbat?" Who coined it? How old is it? What does it specifically describe? I've always found the term innately appropriate even without this specific information. It just feels right.

2. Please name some other derogatory terms used to describe individuals of a left-wing political persuasion. I can't think of many - "moonbat" and "hippy" come to mind. ...
This appears to be the definitive statement:

But hell, it might be fun to call the other side moonbats. It'd be kinda like my veterinarian swinging my ill-tempered cat from side to side as he carried him ... it'd confuse them all to hell. ;)

7. Language today is getting to be very confusing
Someone on the extreme edge of whatever their -ism happens to be
"someone who sacrifices sanity for the sake of consistency"
"... human whose cerebral cortex has turned to silly putty causing him or her to mentally slide down the evolutionary ladder to the level of a winged rat who is influenced by the moon and wants to suck your blood.

Sounds like a bunch of neocons to me. Thank goodness Wikipedia is helping to keep the term "liberal" to its true meaning.
