but his departure is a good thing
a) if he wanted to bring down the gov, he would have left sooner b) his departure means an opportunity to elect a more socially progressive Lib or NDP in London, let the independent and Cons split the back wards vote c) his departure deflects attention from Gomery to Equal Marriage, an issue where the Libs and NDP are instep with mainstream Canada and the Cons are out of step (as much as they pretend to play a moderate line, promoting civil unions)(the more it is talked about, the more their true intentions to use the notwithstanding clause and bury the issue will come out)
enjoy obscurity Pat! your 5 minutes are up

2. How certain are you about point a) ? |

He's threatening to bring down the govt on the budget 3rd reading.....him and a few of his fellow bigot liberal MPs.
I was appalled to hear they would go to such lengths to vote down a bill! Bring down the govt? force an election? Risk national sovereignty?
I didn't expect that from a southern Ont riding! I only hope his constituents give it to him good!

Another little mouse that roared (and hopefully get stepped on shortly)
--he, like Parrish, suffered some medical mishap hours before the vote...heartburn!!
Another 'personal crisis' gnat who is against same-sex and is thinking about 'collapsing' the government over this single issue
He is as self-important as O'Brien and last year when he was making a fool of himself about all the 'grow ops' in his riding and how they will affect the 'children! the Children!', he sounded more Tory than Liberal and is probably ripe for negotiations.
The PM should really watch who's papers he signs...
