My family landed in Port Anapolis Royal in 1640 but were "persuaded" to move 100 or so years later.

I'm just a refugee from my college French class -- but I did get a "B" in the course.
Are you in Montreal?

Mostly, European french-speakers consider me French-Canadian, while French-Canadians consider me European. Personally I would say that, if anything, I am a Europe-born Montréal-Canadian.
Edited to add, no no not one of THOSE Montréal-Canadians, unfortunately. Sure wouldn't mind the salary.

Sort of. My mom is half, but was raised French-Canadian (french as her first language) not in Quebec though. I went to french school and was fluent in french, but, it's been awhile.

14. My Grandfather was a Quebecois |
|
from Lachute, he learned English by courting my Anglais Grandmother. He offered, and tried, to teach me "real" French when I was young, but I was living in Ontario and didn't see the point.
Any smatterings of French I have now are due to school and not from a native speaker. Opportunity lost. Sad.
