2. Only if they move there
I think the biggest factor is how things pan out in the league after the lockout. I can see teams like Carolina, Nashville, Atlanta, and Florida be on the block. Now that they have "cost certainty" the teams will be much easier to sell. If fans don't come back and since the tv deals are basically nil I wouldn't be surprised if at least one team moves.
Pittsburgh may also be one to watch.

Now if that does happen... I would think Portland would be first in line. As much as I hate to say it, Vegas would be up there. I would love to see Winnipeg and Quebec get their teams back.

God I love being able to talk hockey again!

3. The new deal levels the playing field which means
players are more likely to play where they want, rather than where they can make the most money. My guess this will benefit Canadian cities more than American. Americans will get a taste of what it is like to be a basketball fan here in Toronto.

4. Possibly the only positive...
...to come from this new agreement with the player's assoc. and the owners is that some previously financially troublesome locations could possibly sustain a pro hockey team again. I for one would love to see hockey back in Winnipeg. It was nice to see Minnesota get a team back after losing the North Stars all those years ago.

I haven't done much research, but with the US$ rapidly decreasing in value (thanks BushCo) relative to the world, maybe Canada's financial outlook will make it more viable for more teams to prosper in Canada?

6. Yeah,

Bring back the Nordiques! The best series I've ever seen were those old Montreal/Quebec games. Stastny bro's all over the place - there was a lot of passion in that series. They were just starting to get good, when they moved.
Does anyone think London, ON could support a team?

7. London could support a team, as could Hamilton. However,
I think both options would continue to be vetoed by Detroit and Toronto.

11. It would be great if it came here to London
but I doubt it. Toronto, Buffalo, and Detroit will resist having another team within their vicinity. That's one reason that Hamilton didn't get a team (though they had the willing population).

London's not that big a city (very faithful to the Knights though) with only about 350,000 folks. However, based on the population argument alone, the Toyota boom in Woodstock might make it more plausible for London to get a professional team in the future.
