Cheney to visit Alberta on 8 September? |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 09:55 AM by paineinthearse
If true, please treat him as the war criminal he is and ARREST/KEEP him for trial in The Hague as you politely did not do when * visited the Maritime Provinces after his second assumption of power. I am certain you will be giving him a very warm and appropriate reception. Please see http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2053679

2. You know, he does have a conviction or two for drunk driving. |
|
Up here that's a felony. Now, when you're convicted of pot possession in Canada (actually a lot less serious here than DWI), you have to send your fingerprints and arrest record to the FBI if you want to travel in the US, then wait for several weeks for it to go through the bureaucracy. Then they send you a little card that says what a bad person you are, and you have to show it at the border each time you cross. I think it may even be the case that you have to reapply every time, but I could be wrong about that.
Well, the same goes for Americans with felony convictions who want to travel to Canada. I believe Cheney, and Bush, for that matter (and for the same reason) should have to fill out application forms (along with prints) and send it to RCMP HQ in Ottawa for permission to enter the country, endure the inevitable bureaucratic wait, and get their ID cards saying what bad people they are.
And I don't think diplomatic immunity should apply in this case either, since a) he committed his offences back before he held office and b) Cheney is anything but diplomatic. So I'm hoping we could arrest him simply as an undesirable alien if he fails to do his paperwork and tries to enter the country illegally.
The nuisance value alone would be worth it, though.

4. I was thinking of going down |
|
But there isn't much info. I think it's being organized by the Calgary Coalition Against War and Occupation, but they don't have a website so it's tough to know what's going on.
I think it's 5pm at the Palliser Hotel.

6. Tell him to go fuck himself |

If it's good enough for the floor of the US Senate, it's good enough whatever provincial office you recieve him, IMHO.

11. Get this, he is busy concentrating on Katrina, roflmao! |
|
The truth is he is desperately trying to save his Presidency. He WAS coming to Canada to visit the oil sands in northern Alberta at the invitation of the slimy Premier of Alberta who, I have no doubt, is looking for an appointment on the Carlyle Board when he finishes this term.
