3. I use Shaw--cable service.
Very happy with it for the past three-or-so years. Bundled with our cable TV, we pay a smidge over $100 CDN/month.

I believe they monopolize about half the provinces (as far as cable's concerned), and Rogers the other half. Don't know much about Rogers cable internet service.

Telus offers ADSL in the west.

Other than that there are all kinds of dialup providers all across the country.

That's about the extent of my knowledge, which isn't going to help you outside of BC, I'm afraid.

7. Another vote for Shaw
In the 5 years I've had it, it's been down for all of an hour - once. Here, it's about $85 for the cable/internet bundle.

I was with Telus for a while previous to that, and I wasn't particularly happy, but it wasn't ADSL.

5. Sympatico is aligned with Bell Canada, Rogers with the cable company.

8. It depends on where you live
In Québec it's Vidéotron. It's sort of in competition with Sympatico High Speed, but they can't manage to match the former's speed.
