3. Banner night for Canadian Radio. |
|
First HEyHEy, now this.
And on a related note, a friend who's getting her doctorate in philosophy at McGill announced tonight that she's got a monthly radio spot to combine poetry and politics.
I tried to persuade her to try to fuse the hot/cold global village smiling dystopian sensibilities of Marshall McLuhan with the later radio experimentation of Glenn Gould to come up with some sort of hip now/yesterday thing involving the accelerating rape of Canada by multi-national energy interests. Gave her your name to google, even.
But I think she'd rather do something else with the time. She's half Inuit, after all. And boy, what a looker.

5. Talk about the all-Canadian boy... |

He looks exactly like...Michael fuckin' Bublé????
All round, it was a pretty decent show though. Beat the hell outa' watching those "idol" shows for tweenies. At least ALL of these dudes (and dudettes in the earlier shows) had some real talent. I actually thought they were all pretty good. And, if this show was actually on the level (ie. not a stunt) it must have been VERY hard for the band to have to replace Hutchence. They've all been together since grade school...
On edit: But HeyHey was right on that other thread...pretty lame; they're gonna end up with a house gig at that burger joint in Vegas. The one with guitars on the wall. (Are those still around?)
