Barely six weeks ago, New Democratic Party Leader Jack Layton joined the Conservatives and the Bloc Québécois to bring down Prime Minister Paul Martin's minority government, forcing a federal election that many voters did not want at this time.
Then Layton spent the first half of the election race lending credibility to the Conservative campaign by denouncing Martin as unfit to govern, even though Mr. Justice John Gomery had cleared Martin in the federal sponsorship scandal after an exhaustive probe.
Now, just as Stephen Harper's Conservatives are pulling ahead, Layton suddenly is warning that they will wreak havoc on the country if they win.
He has invited Canadians who share his concern to follow Hargrove's lead and vote for the Liberals.

You mean I should have been attacking the reform group all along to have the Liberals ahead in the polls so that the NDP votes wouldn't be afraid to vote NDP? Who'd have knowed. Guess I will have to plan for the next election after this one?
