1. Thanks for the alert ...
... some interesting enough stuff here to warrant taking the dust sheet off the box in the corner - it'll be interesting seeing "Don't Look Back" again after all these years and anything with Martin Carthy and/or Billy Bragg gets houseroom at Skin Mews.

Remember watching "The Last Waltz" on a pub telly in Leicester years ago and being bored out of my skull. Give that one a miss, I think.

Looking forward to the Scorsese MegaDoc though.

2. Thoroughly enjoyed the Scorsese two-parter.
Fascinating footage of the Village "Beat" scene in the early 60s and some great insights into the man himself. Made me want to go back to the music again.

Good stuff last night. The Documentary on Dylan's BBCTV project in '63 was an excellent piece of TellyNerdism and it was wonderful seeing "Don't Look Back" again - ah, such memories of Uni, idealism and hair (sigh).

Great week so far. Most telly I've watched in eons!

3. Also "Masked and Anonymous" is on tomorrow (Saturday)
BBC2 @ 22:10 -- written by & starring Dylan

"Set in the near future in a fictional America, a benefit concert is being organized to heal the country after a civil war. Bob Dylan stars as the ageing rock legend ex-con who will perform one last time.

Written by Dylan himself and performed by a star-studded cast (including Jeff Bridges, Penelope Cruz, Mickey Rourke, and Ed Harris), this is a funny, magical, and visionary film about the soul of America."

I really enjoyed the Dylan documentary. It was the first time I'd seen most of the concert footage (must try & get hold of that "Festival" by Murray Lerner) and it introduced me to several singers I'd never heard of.
