"Get the Bus? Are You Mad!?"
Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 03:02 AM by Morris Onions
Labour, party of the working man, party of the people… or not. The TaxPayers’ Alliance have a fantastic post drawing attention to the noble Lord Snape’s response to a question about Michael Martin’s wife’s massive taxpayer funded taxi bill (£4,000). What did the Labour peer have to say about this outrageous abuse of the taxes paid by hard-working families across the UK? Amazingly he said:

“Is the Speaker’s wife supposed to queue up for the number 12 bus outside when she does her shopping?"

I wonder how many of his former constituents would agree with him.

So there you have it; Labour, the party of privilege.

1. I'd hardly describe Shane Greer or the taxpayers alliance....
as representing the little people themselves.

3. Evidenty nobody in either the U.S. or the U.K.

And in both countries, it is ridiculous and infuriating that the self-styled "elites" think that they're "too good" to use public transportation.

5. Because they have a one-track mind about lowering taxes...
which means reducing spending on health, education and other public services. Richer people can often 'go private'. The 'little people' are those who suffer.

I shouldn't even need to explain this - remember life under Thatcher?

6. Umm ... something I'm finding recently ...
> I shouldn't even need to explain this - remember life under Thatcher?

A lot of people don't.
Even my eldest wonders about my comments on Thatcher as he can't quite grasp the effect
that she (or rather the ideology guiding her) has had on the world ... and he is pretty
damn smart ...

You can fool all the people some of the time, ... etc..
