Blair or Brown - Who is worse?
I'll go with Blair but Brown is certainly catching up.

1. Blair....

...he achieved more but at the same time where his government got things wrong IMHO they were actually worse.

Brown has a long way to go yet to equal Tony Blair's cock ups. The main thing that Labour need to do however is concentrate on how to turn things around. Changing Labour's leadership at the present time is not going to sort that out if you ask me.

There's not much separating them in economic terms, but I find Brown's personality less offensive without a Blairesque messiah complex.

4. As an outside observer, I'd say that "New" Labour's greatest sins were
1. Not reversing the Thatcherite "reforms"

2. Additional snooping and interference in people's lives in the name of "security"

8. "Not reversing"?
More like accelerating. Remember that as chancellor he was responsible for lots of the PFI deals we've been stuck with.

But I agree with most other people here, that while there's little to choose between them on policy, Brown's personality is far preferable.

5. Brown hasn't taken us into war yet.

So he's got that going for him in my book. Not too thrilled that he's meeting * this week, though.

6. Blair
Not much to choose between them on domestic policy; but on foreign policy, Blair is a messianic hawk and Brown isn't.
