This one’s been doing the rounds of the Usual Suspects in the Right Wing Blogosphere ever since it appeared yesterday’s Wail.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage is all The Guardian's Polly Toynbee despises: a Right-wing, chauvinistic Little Englander.
So she'll choke on her muesli to discover this year's UKIP rally in Bournemouth is sponsored by the British Humanist Association of which she's president. Dog is relishing the Polly and Nigel seaside love-in.

Funny eh? The BHA being a strictly non-party political outfit and all that. So I checked it out with them – and received this from the Chief Executive.

Dear Sir,

As soon as we were told that UKIP was claiming that the BHA was sponsoring their conference (the claim appeared on the UKIP website - I was not aware that the Daily Mail had picked it up, so thanks for informing us of that) we contacted them and asked them to remove the claim. We shall now also contact the Daily Mail to ask for a correction.

I can assure you that we would not sponsor any party political event.

Turns out UKIP can organise a piss-up in a brewery! That's reassuring. Maybe, given a year or two's more experience, they'll be able to handle a whelk stall.
