What's your favourite sauce?
Is it the venerable Heinz Tomato Ketchup? Or do you prefer Daddies? Perhaps you'd rather a dollop of brown sauce - HP being by far the best known brand? Or a dash of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce?

Now that Heinz has bought HP Foods, one company owns all four.

So your choice is now one multinational provider, or own brands from the huge supermarkets.

1. ... which are

made by the same multinational providers...

There's always Fairtrade or using the Co-op

I don't tend to use sauces, unless I'm eating "Johnny Foreigner" food: spag, Chinese, Curry.

Never been a fan of brown sauce, salad cream, mayo, ketchup, etc...

2. my fave
dump out a whole bottle of Heinz 57 and add a shot of Maker's Mark whiskey. Mix well, simmer just until you can smell the alcohol leaving - slowly add a little cayenne until it reaches a "zing" but not overpowered. Dump it back in the bottle and zowie!

Also I like soft Alouette garlic chavrie cheese on the side with steak - it melts into the grain, good for your tongue, bad for your girlish figure.

4. How about a carrot-based condiment that makes most things taste great?

Mo Hotta, Mo Betta carries a wide selection of goodies. Some hot sauce names can be creative:

6. Now that's a real sauce.
Besides Yorkshire vs. Worcerstershire - hardly a contest at all there.

7. I'm really not sure about that!
> It's the taste of Sheffield!

The mind boggles! Do I really want to put "essence of Sheffield" on
my food? Hmmm ...

Think I'll stick to the Lea & Perrins after all ...

It contains anchovies.

10. Fine with me ...
... I'm non-vegetarian too!

Thinking about it, WS must be the only way I eat anchovies - hate them
on pizzas ...

9. Careful now
We don't want a fight breaking out - mainly because those of us fighting for Sheffield will fight dirty, and you'll get hurt. :D

11. Fear not ...
... of all the things that I couldn't be bothered fighting over,
Sheffield comes near the top of the list!

:hi:

(What does it actually taste of then? Is it a spicy sauce, a brown
sauce, a fruit/veg sauce or what?)

13. Fighting dirty?
Well looking on the Henderson's Relish website I think I've found a Mullet of Mass Destruction! Maybe this is why all those women find Peter Stringfellow so attractive?

http://www.hendersonsrelish.com/content/fans.htm

Peter Stringfellow

He still maintains his mum made the best gravy in the World and you can guess what her secret ingredient was. His favourite then was rabbit stew and dumplings. Now he has to rely on people bringing it down to him in London as he refuses to eat a cooked breakfast without it.

Apparently Henderson's also count Albert Dingle from Emmerdale and the bass player from Def Leppard as fans. The mind boggles. :eyes:

12. Imported salsa from Arizona
I LOVE salsa with eggs, and the "doritos" salsa is just no replacement
for the good stuff from across the pond.
