1. Are we talking about john Peel the writer?
Or another John Peel? I know the writer, but not anyone else with that name.

5. I am very sad.
John Peel was such an important figure for so many of us baby-boomers. So many memories: late night due-next-day essay writing accompanied by the John Peel show, black coffee and Players No.6, John turning up unexpectedly at the Captain Beefheat gig @Newcastle, listening to my mate's mate's band Medicine Head on R1 for the first time.... a cliche, I know, but it really is like losing one of the family. Sleep well, Peely.

The Skin

6. Sad to hear this!
It's a great shock. He was too young to go.

7. NOW who's going to play hardcore techno
on Radio 1? Bloody nobody, that's who! What a bummer.

Bye John.
