9. He's LYING
When I woke up there was no proof of rain here, those puddles could have come from anywhere. Link? :grr:

Anyway, it's always raining in Ashington, everyone knows that.

11. Pah!
That's what the weathermen try to tell us but they have their reasons. I cycled through there once and saw it for my own eyes, as the locals ran alongside relating the curse, begging for a backer to the sun. Or was it Blyth. :)

The sea-fret is rough too, but with luck not so persistent.

Their username is 'Wickerman', cute eh? :)

OMG, I'm now getting the urge to watch the Director's Cut of the film. I'm getting the urge I tell ya.

16. Director's cut?
Ooh, does Sgt Howie win in that one? I hope so, that Lord Summerisle thinks he's so great, grr... what it really needs is a Homer Simpson remake in the mode of Mr Smith goes to Washington. How about Wicker Man II: The Equalizer!

17. Ha!
You silly bunny. No, sadly Sgt. Howie DOESN'T win in the Director's Cut, he still meets his date with The Wicker Man :( It's a shame, because in those early days Edward Woodward had REALLY CUTE ears...I have a fetish about a certain type of ear.

I rather liked 'The Equalizer' and also the film of 'Callan'

How about a South Park remake of 'Taxi Driver'...Cartman as Travis Bickle?

and respect mah authoritah!" :D

That's a gutter about the Directors Cut, guess I'll have to steal some kids toys and enact my own sequel of righteous justice. :(

On edit: The Equalizer? You must like the A-Team as well eh?

20. Maybe,
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 09:13 PM by lockdown
but Woodward wasn't so wee by then, Mr cute ears was long gone. A bloke on a zimmer taking out crack labs and rescuing cute kidnapped children from deranged mafia bosses. And never charging. What a guy eh. Way more convincing than the A-Team though, you're right.

Apparently an A-Team film is on the way (shudder), thanks to Starsky and Hutch every shitty 70s & 80s TV show ever is being remade on a $200 billion budget.

I think they should remake Man In A Suitcase. That guy had real style. Seriously. The theme tune is running through my head as I type.

You ever seen many of the Comic Strip Presents? I'm excited, there's a box-set out and someone I know is getting it. One springs to mind, The Bullshitters, Bodie & Doyle The Professionals parody... I can't wait to watch them all again!

Woodward was rather past his sell by date. I think it probably was crap, actually I can't totally remember WHAT happened in 'The Equalizer'...but I do now considering you've just described EVERY episode!

I think that Mr. T used to be a wrestler, the American type wrestler ie. seriously embarrassing with big hair...oh hold on, that could describe Giant Haystacks too :dilemma: My brain short-circuited, I FELT it ;)

'Man In A Suitcase' was Richard whatshisname, grey hair, quite well built. That used to be on Bravo, when Bravo was good, they used to show 'Danger Man' and the Emma Peel episodes of 'The Avengers'. Knowing our luck, if they ever made 'Man In A Suitcase' into a film, they'd cast bloody Tom Cruise or someone.

I think I might have seen one episode of 'The Comic Strip Presents', again probably on Satellite a while ago. Can't remember which one though. Are you getting the box set?

I've got a box set of 'The Prisoner', utterly FAB! I'm glad that the film version was aborted, Patrick McGoohan had written the script and then withdrew it and as he owns 'The Prisoner', luckily it seems to have been canned as a project.

I've got to go to bed shortly, have to be up earlier than usual to do some stuff for my Dad. So...Goodnight :hi:

Emma Peel...

Don't make excuses, we all love rubbish tele from youth... shall I confess the most rubbish thing I loved as a kid? Well ok then, it has to be... Blake's 7. Ack, now THAT tune is in my head. Come on then, admit it, what's the most RUBBISH telly program you're fond of?

You don't know the Comic Strip stuff? You don't know what you are missing. Beg, borrow and steal. Some of them are a bit crappy, but some are glorious... great stuff. "A Fistful of Traveller's Cheques", "Mr. Jolly Lives Next Door", "Five Go Mad In Dorset" for a handful, I can almost guarantee you'll love them.

Now I see you've gone to bed I thought I'd scrap the confession above, but sod it... I expect the answer though! Goodnight. :)

(wanders off humming The Prisoner theme)

Did too start it (strop), casting aspersions on the perfect glories of Tyneside... it's ok though, anyone who reminisces about The Farmers Rest obviously doesn't mean it. ;)

A place like the Farmers knocked down for improvements like a Marks & Spencer extension to a shopping mall. I loved the place, was always our matchday pub in the days I went regularly. Must admit, it cracked me up when you and bennywhale were reminiscing about it a while back, have to add my tuppence of praise!
