We are back in the ballpark and you guys can feel better
Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 08:19 AM by GingerSnaps
Cliff Arnebeck said that tomorrow the lawyers will be filing a lawsuit in Ohio to contest the election and voting rights and we are going to have the votes counted. People all over the World are getting involved.

Go to C-Span and listen to the show that was broadcast this morning.

5. Cliff Arnebeck
He was on C-Span talking about the whole World getting involved for a fair election and he was positive that it was fraud and the way that he spoke they must have solid proof.

21. Found the article about Arnebeck, it's in the Guardian dated
Dec. 1st "...Mr. Arnebeck, a legal advisor to a liberal group. Alliance for Democracy,..." (oops got it backwards above).

7. Caution
just because a lawyer files a suit doesn't mean a judge has to grant it. So far, legal action in Ohio really hasn't gone our way.

10. Arnebeck is on Kerry's legal team
I wonder if the Repug judges in OH will allow it. I don't think the Supreme Ct. will touch it this time.

11. I think local judges don't like "outsiders" interfering ....
... with elections conducted locally.

18. Arnebeck said that the Kerry team
was not challenging the election and that his challenge (Arnebeck's) was a grassroots effort. I don't know personally but it didn't sound like he's on the Kerry team.

9. saw C-SPAN interview
from front to back

WHAT A GREAT WAY TO START THE DAY

I almost felt like letting a little of the breath out
that I have been holding since Nov. 2
it's a start
and it sounds serious

and Arnebeck (sp?) was holding his cards
mighty mighty close if you ask me

12. Kerry's involvement makes it go forward
From what Ive been reading in articles about Ohio recount law is they will recount/examine hand counted votes if any candidate's results might change that candidates chances of winning.

Kerry had to jump here. Im sure the other parties knew this and either flushed Kerry out intentionnally or Kerry would suffer great emabarrassment...and find folks losing hope over Kerry lack of good judgement(greed? keeping his funds to himself).

14. Don't count on this, however...
It is a HUGE long shot. They have to convince one member of the OH Supreme Court to set the election aside. That decision can then be overturned by the entire court (5 Republicans, 2 Democrats).

I think it very unlikely that either of the 2 Democrats on the OH Supreme Court will go out on this limb. I believe the only real impact of this suit will be to raise awareness.

17. It was on Washington Journal,
which is still in progress.

On the C-Span home page there is a link to yesterday's program. My guess is you'll have to wait until the program is finished and they change the link from yesterday's program to today's.

Also, they often replay Washington Journal later in the morning but that depends on what else is happening (in particular, is House of Reps in session). The schedule stills says TBA for 10 am so maybe they'll replay it. If they do replay it you should be able to get the stream from their website.
