Do you think Shrub knew about the fix?
Or was it all done behind his back (to protect him)? I'm torn. I'm not sure when I look at him, although he does look very scared lately. Opinions, please.

4. He had to know
If you saw interviews with him during election day (when he stopped to thank volunteers), you could see Lauraeasybake's forced smile and he looked nervous ... He knew he was going to lose. And then, voila, thanks to KKKarl, it was FIXED. The only difference is he knew all along last time, and this time he only learned about the fix in the afternoon.

121. I dont think so
I really think he knew Kerry was going to win.

He definately knew about 2000 though & was actively involved in that shit.(Which is when he made the "You can write it down" comment)Since he was so smug then- which is partially how many Americans figured it out later (See Fahrenheit 9/11) I think the "architect" didnt tell him this time because BUSH IS THE WORLDS SHITTIEST ACTOR. He would have started swaggering and sneering and making stupid comments that would go into F 9/11 Part 2. Sooo- they kept him in the dark.

Karl & Cheney knew but didnt tell Bushie (Plausible Deniability would be another reaspm). I really think none of the Bushes knew- Poppy Bush admitted later he thought it was over. Karen Hughes commented that she thought he was going to lose when they were seeing the exit polling all afternoon up until 8:00pm that night. Bush HAD ALREADY BEGUN WORKING ON HIS CONCESSION SPEECH!

For me- the second they let the press into the white house I knew it was over. I knew in that instant that someone had hacked the vote or paid people not to vote.

I volunteered for the Kerry campaign for months & the enthusiasm amongst soooooooo soooo many of the Americans I talked to was palpable. I went to a rally in Philadelphia days before the election that had 120,000 attendees. Did phone banking ALL OVER THE USA- and you know what? I think in all the calls I did I spoke to 20 people who said they were voting for Bush. And then he won? Yeah, I think not.

We goddamn knew there was a fucking problem before the election when it came out the Diebold asshole was a Bush "Pioneer". And yet, we all hoped. Well- they fucked us again.

Ack. My blood is boiling again

20. You give the guy too much credit
He has had people fix things for him all his life -- he doesn't need to ask, or "know" how it will be done -- but he "knew" it would be done --
The rich are different from you and I, they have servants, factotems and consiglieri who:
1) Fix drunk driving tickets
2) Expunge cocaine arrest records
3) Change driver's license numbers
4) Get you into the champagne guard unit
5) Get you into Yale when you can't get into UT
6) Get you into Harvard B-school when you can't get into UT Law school
7) Get you out of jury duty to avoid answering voir dire on drunken driving history
8) Bail out your company when you can't find any oil
9) Clean up the SEC investigation when you do insider trading
10) Get you an honorable discharge from ANG when you don't show up for duty in the middle of a war
11) Get you out of the army early so you can go to an Ivy League grad school in the middle of a war
12) Slime a genuine war hero's patriotism so you can win a primary
13) Decide an election in your favor when you didn't win
14) Shift the blame for your incompetence to an imagined enemy
15) Pre-empt regular programming to run a scurrilous and defamatory hatchet job on your opponent and call it news
16) Slime a genuine war hero's patriotism so you can "win" an election
etc., etc. etc.

All without "asking" and leaving no fingerprints.
Maybe not so dumb after all:puke:

42. hmmmm...
Didn't I hear that Karen Hughes sat him down in the evening of Nov2 and "broke it to him" that he was going to lose the election? That indicates to me that only a few of the Bushies knew about the fix before hand. Of course he knows now that it was a fix...I think he knew that as soon as he started to "pull ahead". You could see it in his gloating evil face...makes me want to:puke:

47. He knew.
I heard the same report about Hughes sitting him down from her on CNN on election night. She said he was serene and didn't seem worried at all. He basically told her in a sarcastic cynical way, "We'll see what happens." I could just imagine the stupid chimp smirk on his face! I don't think Karen Hughes knew, but there is no doubt in my mind that he did. He was probably nervous earlier in the day because he was concerned it wasn't going to work since the exit polls were in Kerry's favor. I don't think the first lady knew -- I think she is probably as much in the dark about his shenanigans as Nixon's old lady Patricia Ryan was. He was probably worried that Diebold, ES&S, and Sequoia had bailed out on the idea. That's why he looked worried when he was with her -- her concern was genuine that he'd lost, and his was for the reasons upon which I've speculated.

So, what do you guys think?

52. I really think to protect the weed from impeachment
I think that the Rovian style would be to
have things all FIXED up with out actually
saying it to Bush..after all in a court of law
the fixers would be sent to jail(the little guys)
Rove is good at making sure the little people
pay for the crimes

I think it might work that if the president
did not authorize or know about the
something like this he could then be protected,
so for him to have really know
it would be to risky..

Rove is to smart for that
just a good guess as any..LOL

I thought he looked very tense & downright scared that morning & afternoon. And Karen Hughes supposedly sat him down & told the bad news (is this verified or just a story?). Rove, on the other hand, he's the one that remained confident throughout. I think they told him later -- chill, the fix is in again. They all look downright diabolical in that video the networks aired that night.

35. The Great Deceiver!
That's the only thing he's good at, and he's toooooo stupid to do that for very long, because he's either mental or has ADD as in chimps have a longer attention span. He certainly knew. Remember when he got off the helicopter at the White House. He and the old lady had already been told they were loosing. They were looking really glum and down trodden. Then it wasn't long after that the MSM announced an "unprecedented speech from the White House from an incumbent president <theif> would speak on election night." Then there was a breakaway shot to the w.h. the family portrait of all the creeps in one room. He was all smiles and had fuck nothing to say. They had to prompt him with questions about how he was feeling etc. That was the moment, his signal to his cronies to start flipping with their intercession via the great hack... or whatever their theiving plan was. This is all speculation, but the moment that shot came on I knew the gig was up and they were up to something! Rats ass freaks!

83. Those Green Shoes Were The Signal To The Sleeper Cells
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 04:24 AM by Sideways
Think about it. What the fuck was Jenna doing sticking her leg up in the air showing off her shoe like a four year old? And she did it five or six times and she was LAUGHING. I'm convinced this was the sign to the B**h Al Queda Vote Hack Team to stick it up the ass of the American people. Jenna is B**h's favorite and I think this was a slap at Vanessa Kerry as well. This is a very twisted weird clan and they love ritual and SHOW.

The unprecedented nature of the "press conference" where MonkeyNuts had nothing to say was weird in itself but it served two purposes:

1.Signal sleeper cells.
2.Distract viewers from exit poll numbers long enough to start fucking with them.

I want to punch walls when I think about that night. And chew glass.

It could be like Nixon's tapes where he explicitly instructed his henchmen while being recorded. If luck would deliver us a mole who wanted to collect on the reward money and testify - imagine the testimony in the impeachment trial - "It was the plan - when the TV's showed the green shoes, their instructions were to proceed"

In fact, I remember someone here at DU posting that very thought on Nov. 3, or shortly thereafter. There's also speculation that the "unprecidented WH statement" was a media distraction which may have taken people's eyes off the exit polling numbers.

38. He knew and was fearful
At several points he looked way too confident to me, just like on election eve 2000 when asked for a reaction to FL being called for Gore. Boy was he sure that could not be.

It has to be more anxiety provoking to pull it off when so many are aware and watching (2004) than when it is done in relative quiet. (2000)

39. He takes it for granted.
Ma Bush ordered Poppy to fix it...just like rich parents bribing a little league umpire or beauty pageant judge so their child wins. The Bush Crime Family has connections to every major crime committed in the last 50+ years, from helping finance Hitler to Bay of Pigs to JFK assassination October Surprise, Reagan assassination attempt, Iran Contra to name just a few. Junior grew up seeing major world events, as well as everything in his personal life, "fixed" by his family.

I think it was Molly Ivins who said "He was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

hoping that they wouldn't have to kick in the fraud "plan B". Like he was hoping he could win outright. I can't believe I said that -- because I am a person who gets physically ill when he comes on tv. But, I have watched him for brief moments in the last day or two and it looks like he is really trying to do a good job. My take is that he feels guilty and now he is going to try and do well. Don't get me wrong, please. I hate him with every ounce of my being and he did and will continue to ruin the country, I am sure. But just consider maybe he is like a dumb pawn. He's crooked through and through - but he also wants the people really running the show and americans to think he's not stupid. Kind of like Fredo in Godfather?

124. Bush WAS in Ohio on election day
There was a great thread in DU about a week ago, tracing Bush's agenda on election day. Voted in Crawford in the morning, then on to Ohio to thank election workers (sic!)before heading on to the White House.

Look's like it was more than just regular campaign visit.

Here's another article from the Free Press

"Sources close to the Board of Elections told the Free Press that Damschroder and Ohio’s Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell met with President George W. Bush in Columbus on Election Day"

61. I'll show my age and reveal my delight at this particular ?....
....that I have been waiting 4 weeks and 1 day to see -- "Did Bush Know?"

I have fond memories of our life in DC between 1971 and 1979; very fond memories of the first of the, now, 34 years we've been together and our wonderful apartment in Georgetown that happened to be directly across the street from one of Nixon's boys. And, I remember those first "Did Nixon Know?" murmurings.

Ah yes, as we had our dinner this evening celebrating the 34th year together we both toasted the first glimpse of the "Did Bush Know?" meme that appeared just as we were leaving for our little celebration.

It's going to get intense everyone -- get ready to jump on that steamroller and stop the paving of our democracy.

This time around, let's make sure that no one, decades from now, will ever experience one of those "Did xxxxx know?" moments. Our franchise is resilient, but it can use a long period of being cherished and nurtured.

We will prevail.

get ready to jump on that steamroller, more like the Tanks at Tiananmen Square, 1989 (Chinese Student Uprising), But I'm not so sure our M1A1 Tanks would stop for us, as they did in China, with Bush in charge. Nixon would be considered a liberal by today's Republicans.

What I really want to know is, did John Kerry know, due to his Skull and Bones links to Bush Jr. and Bush Sr.?

Did Kerry know what he was up against, or did a Bonesman come up to him like in a Mafia movie and say, "It's not your year John, time to bow out."

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/257753p-220761c.html

Rep. Peter King (R-L.I.) has conspiracy theorists in a dither. Ever since he appeared in Alexandra Pelosi's HBO documentary "Diary of a Political Tourist," suspicious minds have been pressing King to admit he helped rig the presidential election.

In the film, King huddles with Bush strategist Karl Rove at a White House BBQ in June. Then, King tells Pelosi:

"The election's over! We won! It's all over - but the counting, and we will take care of the counting!"

King tells us, "The whole film is a spoof! Do they think I'd really tell the daughter of the House Democratic Leader that we were going to fix the vote?"

Rove/Cheney are the masterminds here. I think they wouldn't tell him so he would keep up his arrogant act.

I agree with you that he doesn't look all that comfortable. He's living such a lie, maybe it's just starting to weigh on him. to tell him he was losing big time (after the exit polls showed Kerry was winning). It was talked about on several threads on DU but I did not save it. Someone (radio person I believe who was in the vacinity) said that Hughes took him aside early in the evening.
I have often wondered abou this as i could be the story they used as "plausable deniability"--if it was ever found out that there was fraud. Anyone recall that conversation?

The political graveyards are full of the rotting corpses of politicians, all better men and women than he is who underestimated the lengths this man would go to win.

I think they hoped to win more or less honestly (a little voter supression here and there notwithstanding) but just in case, they had plan B. I think when the early exit polls came out, they called for Plan B.

Did Bush know every detail. No and he'd be an idiot if he did. The goal was to make it so decentralized that no one could safely say that it was centrally coordinated.

Plausible deniability.

126. I agree Bush is not deep thinker but like the PC educators say..
There's different kinds of smart.

Some people are great at processing and digesting information and communicating to other people. That ain't "Our Leader".

His kind of smart is that he understands very well how to manipulate, intimidate and get people to follow him.

That ability combined with a total lack of scruples and the lack of ability to understand the world around him make him a dangerous individual.

Saying he's a moron trivializes him and that's exactly what he wants.
