RED ALERT HELP NEEDED re: the Conyers hearings
A Judiciasry staffer involved with the hearings has asked me to find out if there is anyone available to do a live webcast of the hearings, which are taking place at 10am this Wednesday in the Rayburn House office building. I am writing a report on all this right now, and plan to tell people to pester CSPAN to cover the hearings, but a live webcast would also be excellent, and would be even more imprtant if CSPAN chooses not to cover.

IS ANYONE HERE CAPABLE OF RUNNING A LIVE WEBCAST IN dc ON THIS DAY FOR THIS EVENT?

IF NOT, CAN YOU RECOMMEND ANYONE *COMPETENT AND REPUTABLE* WHO CAN DO THIS?

The clock is ticking here, so please let me know, and thanks.

1. i'm sure CSPAN would do it
even if not live, they could do "Earlier Today"

does it have to be live?

4. CSPAN covering this solves the problem
but there is no guarantee they will do it. Ergo, the webcast backup.

6. Is the Rayburn House office building "wired"?
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 02:24 PM by F.Gordon
Can you contact someone there to see what is available and how you could fire-up a live webcast? They may have everything you need other than a tech to wire it up and get it online.

And on edit: They may even have a tech available to help you.

12. Yes
but the bitch of it is the room has all the broadcast equipment necessary, but the Republican Majority will not allow anyone to touch that equipment unless they have sanctioned the hearing, and clearly they have not sanctioned the hearing. There is an internet connection, which can be used for the webcast.

13. It's not a public facility?
I wish I was there to help. So, you have the connection but you just need someone to fire it up? Most dem HQ's are pretty hi-tech. Can you find a friendly local dem to help out?

I'd still try to find out what the building can offer you outside the bounds of this crap the republicans are pulling on freezing the existing equipment.
