FEMA says no to NC...guess they spent too much in Florida
This is unbelievable, but FEMA has turned NC down for disaster aid. Don't know if you remember the massive damage from mudslides in Western NC after one of the summer hurricanes, but trust me, NC had plenty of hurricane damage-8 million dollars worth. Some people in NC are still homeless after the hurricane season.

Basically, they dumped so much aid into FL during the campaign season that they likely have nothing else left for NC.

From my hometown paper:

1. Ya know...
I've been thinking about this disaster aid thing and how much they pumped into Florida. I fully expect that when the next big earthquake hits California, one of the bluest states, that they're going to say, "Sorry, we spent all the disaster money already. Tough sh**." If they screw NC, one of their own, they'll surely screw Calif. That might be the thing that kick-starts a secession movement.

2. Western NC got some money
But here where many are still homeless from hurricane spawned tornadoes there is no money. Probably because NC was not a battleground state and the people involved are lower income and minority, Democratic voter demographics :grr:

3. StreetDoc, i was gonna mention that....
But didn't want to mention where I'm from, actually!

I'm originally from the county where those tornadoes happened. Terrible thing, horrified everyone. My mother is at this moment trying to calm down after reading that article because of the people who are homeless because of tornado damage.
