1. Economist too
Thanks for that link. Frank Rich in the NYT (11/29) also draws our attention to this fact:

"It took a British publication, The Economist, to point out that the percentage of American voters citing moral and ethical values as their prime concern is actually down from 2000 (35 percent) and 1996 (40 percent)."

3. The New Yorker has a very interesting article
that says the same thing. 9-11 was the thing that made people vote for *. Made me feel better.

2. In /The Economist/ they found that in the last three elections...
...the number of people who claim moral values as their #1 deciding factor in voting for a presidential candidate dropped from 40% in 1996 to 35% in 2000 to 22% in 2004.
