Anyone at the RALLY in Columbus, please help me remember!
I have a terrible memory for things like this, but I suddenly (almost) recalled that there's a very, very important vote coming up in the Ohio house that would essentially give over the process to corporations? Two people mentioned it, Arnebeck and someone else.

Does anyone with more brain cells than I remember the whole thing, what bill it was, if it was Ohio or national, or anything else?

1. That was regarding campaign contributions
I don't remember all the details but it had to do with expanding corporations' ability to donate large sums of money to campaigns - essentially using the profits made off of consumers-like-us to buy politicians. Not that it isn't happening already, but the bill would make it easier. Don't remember the name/number of the bill.

3. I believe you may be referring to Bill SB 214
"By strategically inserting the term “person” throughout the bill, the sponsors are, perhaps inadvertently, removing hard-fought and long-standing restrictions so that vast amounts of essentially unregulated corporate and union revenues can be introduced into campaigns. Under current Ohio law, corporations may contribute to campaigns only by creating political action committees. This bill would open the corporate and union revenue floodgates so that they could overwhelmingly influence the outcome of elections."

4. Hey, kk897...
It's think it's Senate Bill 214. There's some good info on it at this website: http://www.lwvohio.org/advocacy/lobby/214.html. Vote is expected to be Tuesday.

BTW, had a grand time last evening - I'm still laughing about the "missionary".
