A red/blue divide of a different color

Blue blob at right is "The Heights"; left is Lakewood.

1. How does this compare to the voting of other counties on
issue one?

Liberal white areas strongly opposed; black, blue collar white and rural areas strongly for.

5. Meaning
The most interesting thing to me about the pattern is the contrast between blacks and liberal urban whites on this issue, even though their neighborhoods are adjacent. Such a sharp dividing line of strong feelings! Same thing in Franklin County (Columbus).

Not sure that it means much to the overall election result, as both groups voted for Kerry with gusto despite differing on Issue 1. Maybe some more analysis would reveal a deeper meaning.

6. So does this debunk the idea that Gay marriage brought out
a fantastic turnout from Bush supporters? THat is what issue 1 is about?

Rather that the issue 1 was independent of Bush/Kerry support?

Or has that already been stated in other news/threads?

Thanks,
Trudyco

7. Oh yeah. It kind of does lend support to that, doesn't it?
