"Brad" - This Brad?
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 09:52 PM by Skip Intro
I'm sure others have done a simple search on google for "brad's blog" and come up with a Brad Friedman, but I haven't seen this posted anywhere. Sorry if a dupe.

This appears to be the same "Brad" of "Brad Blog" sudden fame.

An actor/writer/commedian? Wha?

http://www.bradfriedman.com/

(Links to BradBlog, etc here).

Same Brad?

Am I missing something here?

12. Hey People
If you want to know who Brad is, what he says about this story, and what he stands for, please check out this thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x119931

Pay special attention to the manner in which Brad directly answers all of the skeptical questions put to him on this thread.

Thanks for keeping an open mind. Remember Jon Stewart? Yes, he's another comedian. Do we really need to devour our own siblings just because they happen to have a sense of humor?

15. Great Post BlueDog
Probably what I should've written in my post. I just didn't have the patience at the time to be rational.

Some on DU are actually treating this like it's 'breaking news' or something, like we didn't know who Brad was.

On edit, I didn't know who Brad is/was.

I still don't.

31. i don't know who he is
but as I stated in post below...(#26) he's done a hell of a job keeping up with the weird election.

I understand the need for being skeptical, though. I still am about half the stuff I read -- on *any* venue at this point. Not so sure about Curtis, but that will all play out just as other stories do....

22. I can't remember where I read about Bradblog originally but it was from
some highly reputable blog or website that had his blog listed as a good source for election fraud coverage, this was weeks ago. I wish I could remember who first linked me to bradblog. Aside from his annoying green type on a black background (don't my eyes hurt enough reading my computer all day) he seemed relatively sane, just comprehensively posting day by day news relating specifically to the Votergate stories. Then a few days ago he started posting here, and now he is coming out with a story that on it's face seems too good to be true. Don't know what to think, but his being a comedian/actor/writer doesn't necessarily contribute to my thinking he's a snake-oil saleman.

At this point I just have healthy scepticism about everything, but still am hoping for the election fraud proof (that definitely happened) to come our way. I'm most anxious about the Conyers investigation effort, the Glib recount, Olberman's efforts to keep us in the MSM, and the lawyers and groups that are going to contest the Ohio results. Is anything still happening in other states? I thought NM results were very close and that a recount was possible there. Any one know?

6. No, I'm just catching up on this new stuff
Just read the Curtis affidavit for the first time, then tried to go to Brad Blog - too busy. So I googled, and this brad friedman link was the first result. And there, on that site, was a link to the BradBlog.

And I just thought - damn, did a commedian just break the voter fraud story wide open, or am I missing something.

9. Well, what do we expect?

I mean, wouldn't we *expect* some comedian--or some vicious Republican, or some bored nihilist-- to mess with this site?

I mean, even if "Brad Blog" WEREN'T a comedian, perhaps cracking his own practical joke( is he or not? I don't know!)--

And isn't this why DU'ers should be, as a rule, skeptical...suspicious, even??

A LOT is a stake here, and if, for example, people were to start writing thank you emails on reports they themselves didn't even see...

I'm just saying that this is what I've been saying.... Caution should be the law around here!!

not by Brad at the BradBlog, at least. the affadavit is real. Curtis is real.

whether or not his claims are true is yet to be determined. most of Curtis' history has been verified and confirmed, however.

29. it's not BS!
Brad has been a contributing columnist for DU for most of this year.

His website is getting hammered right now, but he is NOT -- repeat NOT "punking" anyone.

the affadavit is real, but the allegations have yet to be verified.

please check other threads for more info; can't find the link to his previously published columns yet. will post when i do.

14. Political comedians
I guess my .02 is that Al Franken and Jeanine Garofolo (sp?) began as comedic types. And The Daily Show writing staff are comedians. Is that so bad? I am not being sarcastic.

26. for what it's worth
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 10:41 PM by KaliTracy
I *found* DU because of the BradBlog site. When I found it, I was impressed that he started so quickly (or I just found him first) after the election. From his site -- (which I'm paraphrasing) he states he's neither republican or democrat and didn't vote for either candidate. However, in light of the issues surrounding the election he started keeping a blog of all of the anomalies *That Were Published And/Or Verifiable* -- wasn't looking at anecdotal information -- just things that had merit and teeth.

In fact, when I sent him a link to some things, and mentioned the Madsen stuff here (right after 1st and 2nd article were published) -- I just told him some things were going on in this forum about the stuff Madsen published, but I was skeptical, and thought that Oblermann had some good points. I saw a *lot* of holes in those first articles.

He was trying to arrange *contact* with Madsen, and was going to have a phone interview with him. After he spoke to him he then wrote a blog about Oblermann and Madsen and the story Madsen was working on. Mentioned that Olbermann was doing the same thing he accused Madsen story -- didn't try to contact Madsen, just posted his Blog without allowing Madsen to verify Oblermann's issues with the story...

In any case -- what I'm trying to say is that I've been to the site and have seen it as not a flash in the pan -- it's had updates quicker than some things here -- he's doing investigation, and tryign to get things out that the mainstream media isn't - and happens to be an actor. So what? Some people have elected actors as governors and president....

He's provided links to Major News networks calling for people to take action/make a statement (CNN, New York Times, Etc.) and has called out when the press is finally doing something.

However -- When I read the stuff that Curtis wrote at justaflyonthe wall a week or so ago (the link was posted here, I think) -- I remembered thinking to myself that either the guy had a good imagination -- or that some things have happened to him in his life. Get the same kind of feel for the guy who was involved with the CyberNet(??) group.

My take -- as always... is time will tell. I don't particularly believe this one any more than I believed the 29 million dollar check. But I trust this source more because I've been visiting and reading what he's been writing about for the last 4 weeks, and I didn't know Madsen from Adam, and didn't particularly care for his journalistic style.

Even if it's not true -- it will certiainly open the door to more investigation of the software Diebold used, dontcha think? Or maybe not.

By the way -- the only reason I'm posting this is because I understand that people need context -- and I'm hoping this gives a little bit of context to what has happened today.
