Earlier today in San Francisco ... (contact DNC members)
Here is the Chronicle's coverage of today's rally outside Nancy Pelosi's office:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/news/archive/2004/12/06/state1918EST0120.DTL

I was there! While we assembled outside, some activists (from http://www.usvip.org if I understood correctly) were inside discussing the issues with Pelosi's staff. They also met with Barbara Boxer's staff last week.

One of the issues that came up in both discussion is that it is very difficult and awkward for officials like Boxer and Pelosi to take a strong position when Kerry and the DNC have not taken a strong position themselves. They seemed to indicate that we should be lobbying the DNC to take a stronger position.

Here is a link to the current DNC leadership:
http://www.democrats.org/about/leadership.html
I'm not sure where the rest of the DNC members are listed.

By the way, in case anyone missed it, the DNC took some positive steps today with this press release:
"DNC Chair McAuliffe and Voting Rights Institute Chair Donna Brazile Announce Comprehensive Investigative Study on Election Practices in Ohio"
http://www.democrats.org/news/200412060007.html

However, the final paragraph indicates "a full report will be issued in the spring" and there is no indication of any urgency to get anything done before the scheduled re-inauguration.

4. Sleep will probably more comfortable for you in Cuba --- or China!
Then you won't have to worry about who to vote for -- much less whether or not your vote counted.

I was there today. It was fun.

 on dudes

7. MY advice and what I have been doing
I launched an attack on my state chair and I and others have been pestering the shit out of him to get the DNC involved nationally. He told me they are having a national meeting of the state chairs this week and will be talking about the new head of the DNC. SO I urge all of you who haven't been doing so to call and e-mail the crap out of your state chairs.

By the way, Howard Dean has an important speech for the evening of the 8th after the Conyers hearing. You can watch it on the Blog for America at www.democracyforamerica.com. I wonder how THIS relates? Will he talk about heading up the party?
