Brainstorm: When the fraud story hits the MSM |
|

I think that the Conyers hearing will bring some of it to light there
What will be the RNC/Rovian response so that we can rapid response?

the first response to the hearings will be ridicule.
If something bubbles to the surface that is even remotely perceived as a threat to Bush/Rove, the next response will be all out character assassination.
The RW echo chamber has been pretty quiet right now but if something big breaks, the gates of hell will be opened by Limbaugh, Hannity, O;Lielly, Coulter et al....character assassination/ridicule will be explored "in depth" by Tweety, Wolf, Judy, Paula etc....
We better be prepared.

I think that the above mentioned personalities in the echo chamber havn't taken it on yet only because it isn't in the mainstream.
Once someone takes it on seriously

Federalist Society or James Baker representing his own law firm and clients. I would name names of the Fed Soc usuals, but they might not send someone in their place makin git harder for me to measure their degree of concern.
When its serious they don't send Coulter - she is there to obfuscate -- she tells us that she is a constitutional lawyer, but makes a joke of it all by her up-side-down law interpretations, extremism, put- downs, or scratch - (the inability to hear her or the other speaker). She is a constitution destroyer-deflector-replacer.

19. If they ridicule it, it should be pointed |
|
out that they are ridiculing the voting rights of millions of Americans.
THAT MUST ALWAYS be the response followed by a request for a few facts to back up assertions.
Always say, YOU OBVIOUSLY have little care for how SACRED voting is to Americans. DO NOT MARGINILISE the concerns of Americans .
Soldiers ARE DYING TO PROTECT the vote. Show some RESPECT.
Always, always, always turn the situation to point out THEIR disrespect for the vote.
ALWAYS!
That is how Republican Headquarters instructs their foot soldiers.
It's time for Dems to speak as a Greek Chorus.

11. I think that may already be happening |
|
as I read an op-ed piece on another thread about Curtis just trying to sell his book.
Our response should be?
Personally I hesitate to defend him too strongly until his story is vetted better.
While I think there is some probability of truth to it, i also remember the Rather memos.
and before that the guy that wrote the book about Bush and talked about cocaine use was Roved pretty badly, discredited, and then killed himself.
Curtis I fear gives Rove a lot to work with. But if his story is solid and there are other witnesses who come forward.....

8. They'll invade another country... |
|
or just keep over bombing the ones we already occupy? Take your pick.. Whatever they do will probably hit the news waves either tonight or Wed. morning, just in time for the hearings to start and court filings to happen.

WE looked the other way, they'll say -- vote fraud has always been a Democratic problem and now Dems are getting a taste of their own medicine.
Of course, that's ridiculous, but what do you think girlfriend-beater John Fund was all over the cable programs for in the weeks leading up the election? It was all about innoculating the conservatives against fraud charges, SHOULD we be able to prove them.
I mean, the NERVE of John Fund to write a book about vote fraud is astounding -- then to shamelessly promote this as a Democratic problem is beyond galling.
But they do it. And the MSM lets them get away with it.

Coulter and Scarborough first.
Then Hannity and O'Reilly's character murdering "reports."
Limbaugh, CNN, Washington Times in the third wave.
The goal:
To ridicule, divide and seed the doubts about the whole story.

Right on! In addition to your suspicions, we'll see a quick succession of most of the other tricks. For example, the chief of strategy of the Swift Boat Vets was on C-SPAN last night. The Righties are so confident about the results of Ohio that they already have that guy on explaining why their work was so successful. What a joke!

15. They will parade Demo "election fraud" examples |
|
I think this is what is going on in the East Saint Louis FBI investigation, and there are probably others. It's the "everybody does it" story as well as the standard "yell and wail about the nasty Democrats" and the MSM will fall into line. It's what they were doing in the runup to the election. Every Repub spokesperson kept harping on the same few stories of small-scale "fraud" stories like Demos re-registering. It's what Repub election officials are already saying in Ohio too: "both Dems and Repubs." Move along, no big deal here.
They also say that since Kerry says he's not challenging the result, why pay attention? It's just a waste of money and effort, right? That's been done in Ohio too.
And they'll undoubtedly try to put the screws on the MSM where they can.

16. one other thing: Rovian fake story plants a la Rathergate |
|
We need to be careful here and always fact-check. If they think there's a serious possibility of exposure, they will probably do a Rovian plant of a bogus juicy "Repub fraud" story. If the bait is taken, it can be exploded to cast doubt on legitimate stories. Just ask Dan Rather.

20. The story will not break |
|
even if you had indisputable evidence.
MSM in America is not stupid and even a fool would understand at this point that fraud has taken place. So do they, but they seem to have made decision to marginalize the issue to conspiracy theories and Bloggerman as a bone for you to chew. I noticed that his blog headline was not even visible anymore in the NBC-homepage anymore.
Even if they were forced to cover this issue, it "would not be enough to overturn this election" and few obvious scapegoats would be hanged and the issue buried.
As I said couple times before, the only way to get good coverage would be to address foreign news agencies, which of course majority of Americans don´t pay attention to. Perhaps even they might be pressed not to report, obvious exceptions would perhaps be some French and Russian papers or some Al-Jazeera which would be twice as easy to discredit as propaganda.
I´m sorry if this sounds defeatist. I don´t have any American partisan affiliations, but I have closely followed how media has covered this story and I believe that my observations are objective.
