17. Speaking of elephants...
an e-mail I received:

A Christmas greeting to my Republican friends

The election is over, the results are known,
The will of the people has clearly been shown.
Let's forget the quarrels and show by our deeds,
We will give our leader all the help that he needs.
So let's all get together, and let the bitterness pass,
I'll hug your elephant and you kiss my ass.

30. A rewrite of your Christmas "greeting"
This election ain't over.
The vote counting's just started.
Our side is real pissed
'cause their side just farted.
So let's all pull together
and expose this coup.
We'll hang their Elephant
before this Ass is through.

I'm feeling better today than I have in over a month. Maybe we will have a merry Christmas after all, once we finish "Scrooging" the Busies.

3. PUSH FOR MSM COVERAGE -
CALL ALL of your elected officials and as many media as you can reach today.

I just called the local and Washington offices of my 2 Senators and Congressman and gave them an earful. A woman in my Congressman's Washington office was VERY interested to hear what I had to say about computer vote fraud, agreed that with Republicans in control for the next 4 years we have NO chance for free & fair elections in future, and volunteered her opinion that AMERICANS SHOULD BE RISING IN FUROR to protest this stolen election.

PLEASE - whether or not you believe there is a case for fraud - FIGHT to ensure an immediate complete investigation and overturn of election results if warranted.

FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

Now is the time to go NUCLEAR -

Congressmen, Jesse Jackson investigating election complaints
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

WASHINGTON -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson said Wednesday the burden is on Congress to investigate countless reports of election irregularities in Ohio and elsewhere.

While he stopped short of calling for a delay in the Inauguration, Jackson repeatedly said the election is not over.

"The legal challenges cannot stop. There should be a debate in Congress about what happened," said the former Democratic presidential candidate and founder of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition.

Jackson's comments came as Rep. John Conyers, a Michigan Democrat, convened a meeting to examine the accusations.

Conyers, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said Democratic lawmakers have received tens of thousands of reports of voting problems. <more at link>

21. My letter to MSNBC
Why has there been no mention of the Congressional hearings held today? This is a matter of grave concern to many Americans. Why is it that the media prefers to discuss basketball fights and baseball steroid use while voters were apparently systematically disenfranchised in many states? It seems that MSNBC is the ONLY network that is even remotely interested in giving this story a minimal level of coverage. It is the duty of the media to look out for this Nation and investigate the serious allegations that have been brought to light. The appearance of impropriety will undermine our faith in this Democracy. Right now, the lack of media attention to this issue gives many Americans the impression that fraud actually took place.

14. Akron Beacon-Journal
Taken from the AP Wire (Subscription required):

Conyers, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said Democratic lawmakers have received tens of thousands of reports of voting problems.

Those included disparities in vote totals for Democrats on the same ballot, too few voting machines in Democrat-leaning urban precincts, organized campaigns directing voters to the wrong polling place and confusion over the counting of provisional ballots cast by those whose names did not appear in the books of registered voters at polling places.

The Government Accountability Office said it would study the 2004 election, and Conyers said Democrats on the Judiciary Committee plan to review each reported problem.

Also at the hearing, John Bonifaz of the National Voting Rights Institute said his group would keep pursuing a recount in Ohio. He called on Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell to delay the Electoral College meeting, scheduled for Monday, until the recount is complete.

the Rev. Jesse Jackson warned that the session must be more than merely an opportunity to "vent."

"We cannot vent and then have Congress not act. If these reports are not investigated, we have all wasted our time," the two-time candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination declared. "This cannot simply be an academic venting session. Take this struggle to the streets and legitimize it there, as they did in Selma."

Jackson is right. There is no question that the voting and ballot counting processes in Ohio -- and a number of other states -- were deeply flawed. Those flaws are well outlined in the letter that Conyers and eleven other Democratic representatives sent earlier this month to Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell. (Read the letter and other recent communications from Conyers to state and federal officials regarding the electoral troubles in Ohio at http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats/correspondence/letters.html)

The letter, as well as testimony at today's hearing in Washington, makes a convincing case for continuing the examination of the mess that Blackwell, a Bush partisan, and his team made of the voting in Ohio on November 2. Necessarily, that examination must include the full recount requested by Green Party presidential candidate David Cobb and others.

23. Best line in the article:
The right-to-vote amendment is not all the reform that is needed. But if the goal of is to prevent future electoral fiascos like -- in Florida, Ohio or elsewhere -- it is a vehicle for getting started. After all, who, aside from Antonin Scalia, would argue against the right to vote.

37. This was my view of it, I disagree with your conclusion - I took notes.
I just heard Pam Fessler report on Election Fraud ISSUE!!!

Overall, pretty good - gave much more time to the good guys than the bad guys, I would say.

What I heard:

First - Common Cause event from Tuesday was covered: Quoted an activist saying that as a poll watcher he heard a voter yelling that their Kerry vote turned into a Bush vote, and that night he heard more cases of that on the news - How can it all go from Kerry to Bush, is there anyway to explain that anomoly other than FRAUD!!!??? And the crowd went WILD!!!! in the background. WoooHooo!!!

Pam Fessler referred to us as a small but energized group of voters, mostly organizing on the internet.

David Dill (?) and Ted Selker (?) the MIT guy saying some votes switched from Bush to Kerry too so it isn't fraud.

Mentioned Intimidation and confusion at the polls, poll watchers describing no lines in the suburbs and inner city voters waiting for hours in the rain.

THEN - The hearing yesterday - Played a clip of Conyers, pretty basic - mentioned that w/o Republican support it will be hard for Congress to do anything, that is why they are demanding the GAO do an investigation. Also quickly mentioned the GLIB recount filing in Ohio and the lawsuits, but not much detail about that.

THen the SOS spokesman said the 'welcome this scrutiny' because they have nothing to hide. Especially since Democrats are in charge of the polls in the inner city anyway, how can they blame it on the state? (?!?!?!?)

That's all folks. I gotta get dressed and go to work now.

Jackson Vows to Continue Ohio Vote Probe

Democratic Congressman, Jesse Jackson Vow to Continue Inquiry of Ohio Vote

WASHINGTON Dec 8, 2004 — A Democratic congressman and Jesse Jackson said Wednesday they will continue to investigate complaints of election irregularities in Ohio, but they won't call for a delay in the official certification process.

Ohio officials declared President Bush the winner of the state's 20 electoral votes Monday after the ballot count showed a 118,775-vote lead over Democratic Sen. John Kerry. The Electoral College meeting is scheduled for Monday, despite a recount starting as early as next week.

Rep. John Conyers of Michigan, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, convened a hearing to examine accusations of voting problems in Ohio.

Perhaps not MSM for you, but vg.no is the biggest here.

http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=258000 ("We can prove election fraud, say Ohio lawyers") Also high up on the front page right now.

Just a loose thought in another direction: With all those numbers and statistics out there, I believe it is impossible to hide election fraud in the long run. (IF of course there are people who will not tire of investigating) You cannot adjust numbers on such a large scale without there being several statistical angles that will give clues to what have been done. It seems to me to be a parallell to the SETI search for life in space. You have an enourmous amount of data, and have concerned people doing decentralized number crunching. A search for Evil Intelligence, sort of. Here on earth, on a much smaller budget, but at least equally important.

Dont know if using this model (or describing it as a parallell) could grab attention. If not the main issue makes the big jump to the MSM, there are other sides of this investigation effort that could be newsworthy, sort of bridging the way across the chasm.

Greetings from Norway.

(Edit: vg.no refer to Ekstrabladet as their source)

44. NPR's "Morning Edition" coverage of the election theft -- and my response
NPR's "Morning Edition" did a fairly long story this morning, using sound-bites from Conyers (GOOD) as well as sound-bites from the Common Cause et al forum (both good and bad). As with all MSM (mainly shit media) who decide to cover the story, we need to both thank them AND point out any problems in their coverage. (For example, why did Common Cause give a forum for the MIT professor -- whose critique of Freeman's research has already been debunked -- so that NPR could use his "sound bites"?) So here's my morning letter to NPR. I hope others will write them also.
----------
To Morning Edition:

Good to hear some coverage of the election theft on NPR this morning. Thank you for this overdue coverage. But I would like to see any documentation for the statement that the MIT professor made in your piece that electronic votes for Bush were switched by the machines for Kerry. There are over 37,000 reports of voting problems listed on the nonpartisan Election Incident Reporting System and I have seen NO REPORTS on that site which indicate that electronic voting machines erred for Kerry, anywhere, in any state. As we all know, if the voting machine "glitches" were a simple matter of machine error, we would expect that the errors would have favored Bush and Kerry about equally. Instead, ALL the reported errors on the EIRS site I have reviewed have favored Bush (by taking votes away from Kerry and assigning them to Bush or a third party candidate, or simply by erasing them entirely.)

If there have been such reports I have missed on EIRS, my guess is that they were filed weeks after the election when the Republicans began to see the massive election theft evidence mounting against them and felt compelled to file false reports of machine "glitches" favoring Kerry on the EIRS site. Fortunately, we can look at the dates when all EIRS reports were filed and interpret those late reports with caution.

Don't take my word for it. You can access the EIRS web-site yourself and review the complaints yourself. You can also read and review the affidavits that have been filed in Ohio which -- again -- report the multitude of problems that occurred in that ORANGE state, all of which favored Bush.

You should also be aware that the MIT professor's early critique of the U. of Pennsylvania's Dr. Freeman's analysis of voting irregularities (specifically the disconnect between the exit polls and the "reported" vote in several swing states, which Freeman stated would have occurred by chance with 250 million to one odds) has already been debunked because the MIT professor (and his Cal Tech colleagues) used the "adjusted" exit poll information instead of the raw exit poll information which was still available on the CNN site at 11:00 pm on election night, before the exit pollers' computer server "crashed" and they felt the need to "adjust" their results. And, as my letter to Morning Edition yesterday said, there is no excuse for the exit pollers still refusing to release their raw exit poll data to the American public -- no excuse whatsoever.

So thanks for finally putting a story on Morning Edition about this election theft. Unfortunately, it appears to be difficult for you and other MSM to report this story without continuing to be condescending about those of us who are convinced that this election was stolen. But, after all, the first American revolution was started by a "small but vocal" band of patriots who would no longer take injustice and tyranny quietly. Why should we be any different, despite the fact that we have television news (and their incessant coverage of meaningless basketbrawls and New York hawks without homes) to distract us? Some of us know what is important and, despite the monopoly on informed debate being wielded by the Republicans in Congress, we will not be silenced. To be silent is to be complicit and unpatriotic.

In closing, I would ask that NPR please keep looking at the primary sources in developing your future stories on this election theft and not simply take without critical review what (discredited) MIT professors and self-serving CYA Republican election officials have to say. There is evidence of fraud and election theft in many states -- at least six of which are now pursuing recounts. This is the most important story affecting our democracy in the past century and I pray that you will stay on top of it. And, as a longtime NPR supporter and fan, I would request that you bite your tongues when you feel the need (or receive the directive) to be dismissive of our genuine concerns.
