Maybe the first business of the new DNC Chair should be urgent negotiations with the Green Party on a merger, provided the Green party allows the newly-spliced entity to use the Green Party name.

You mean like Democratic-Green Party. I gotta ask, what's in it for the Greens?

5. As a Green I'd take Dean if he'd move to our party. Instantly you'd have |
|
a viable third party similar to the Perot/Reform party phenom.

8. The Green Party is, well, a bit green still. |
|
If the Dems want to increase their ability to cooexist with the Green Party, they should promote ranked order voting in local elections in states where Green Party support is high. In addition, dual nomination (where a voter can vote for a Dem nominated by both the Dems and a third party and still have it count towards keeping that party on the state rolls) should be adopted as they have in NY.
This will allow the Green Party to mature without threatening to spoil Democratic candidates against the Republicans, and is a reward I suspect the Greens would be satisfied with for their role in standing up to the fraud this time around.
Currently the Green party has a bit of growing to do before it can contribute candidates to national races. Some of the states have some pretty freaky people high up in the chapter leadership, and that will be a problem until the party gets enough enrollment and participation by more mainstream influences.
(I'm a registered Green, but really just to keep them on the ballot. I vote a mongrel ticket and register when and how it suits my interests best. In the last year alone I was a Green, a Democrat, then a Green again.)
