I applaud the Dems who stood up today
For those who ask "where are the Dems?" I ask you to look.

Shelia Jackson Lee - Dem.
John Conyers - Dem.
Barney Frank - Dem.
Jesse Jackson Jr. - Dem.
Nadler - Dem.
Wexler - Dem.
Watt - Dem.
etc.

Everyone, this is a hearing, staffed by those Dems willing, at this point, to stand up and say "something might be wrong." To that end, they brought in people who showed them facts, and spoke of lawsuits, and used the "F" word time and time again.

And the Dems listened. They listened hard, and when their time came to stand and go to Ohio they said "we will go."

While our outrage smolders, the nation for the most part sleeps. Today, we managed to awaken some of our nations leaders from a long sleep, and they awoke to a vision that I believe will stay with them, grab hold, and not let go.

We are, to go back in history, at the point in time of the third rate burglary. While you, I, and millions of others want to hear "What did the president know and when did he know it", we are not there yet.

For now, it looks as if our chosen leader has forsaken us, so we must move the earth ourselves. We started with the smallest of spoons, and today we find ourselves with the smallest of shovels. We are, however, more now then we were then, and as each blade turns over yet another pile of dirt we move a step closer.

Today, we gave out a whole bunch more shovels. Let's see if the people who took 'em know how to dig.

2. I watched "All the President's Men" early this morning...
...and was struck by the snail's pace of that investigation, and how long it took for what was unfolding to really take hold.

We live in a time when any investigation by journalists would go much faster - Woodward wouldn't have to go rifling through fat phonebooks in 2004, for instance. But they're up against a different animal this time: real apathy. It was alive and well then, too, but now we have a lazy and complicit media. And this time, there's no Democratic congress to open the door to any real investigations. That won't happen this time, and, this time, there won't be any incredibly stupid indulgent audio tapes to seal the deal.

I was struck by the questions the Post kept getting: "why are you obsessed with this story? It's going nowhwere."

Where are the Woodwards and Bernsteins?

I'm afraid we are, and that's the big difference. And we're easier to ignore, if we let them.

8. And the answer to "why are you obssessed with story" is
That if there is one fundamental principle, above all others, that this nation was founded on, it is the consent of the governed. Wihout that you might as well not have fought the Revolution--not have bothered at all. When the people's votes are not counted or when they are prevented from casting them in the first place, then whoever governs over them/makes decisions for them does so without their assent. And this is the same system, governing over people without their agreement, as the most tyrannical dictatorship or an absolute monarchy.

4. Remember - the power has always been ours to exercise -
we just have not taken ahold of it until now. I am certain that our numbers (in terms of people) will have far more effect than Kerry could have alone. The Media would have eaten him up and spitten him out like a piece of bad meat. You knw this from experience. Remember what they did to Gore.

6. When I talked to my Chicago relatives this weekend,
and told them what's been going on with the fraud investigations, they wre shocked. They had no idea any if this was going on.

One cousin who is a Democrat and pretty liberal, told me that she'd just settled in because the election was over. I told her it WASN'T, that was what she was being told by the media, and then explained what's been going on with Bev and everything else.

I told all the relatives about DU and how to get on here. I stressed that they HAD to get their news from somewhere ebsides the TV. They seemed a little uneasy at how they'd been duped.

Ellen, Boo, you guys here yet?

10. We have got to figure out a way to get the PEOPLE TO RALLY
This is Catch 22: they can't take to the streets because they don't know anything's going on. They can't know anything's going on unless someone tells them.

I'm in Ohio and I wrack my brain everyday trying to figure out HOW TO LET PEOPLE KNOW. We don't have much time, either, which complicates it all that much more.

We need to find out when Rep. Conyers et al are coming to Ohio and pull out all the stops in getting CROWDS OF PEOPLE HERE.

Remember Fla. 2000 and the mobs of imported brownshirts. They swung momentum their way by their presence and assertiveness.

WE NEED CROWDS HERE AND WE NEED THEM SOON.
