I'm proud to live in a red state. |

Remember what a light in the wilderness can do.
It ain't over until I die.
(If you don't understand this post, it's a pity because you'll never know the fulfillment of fighting the good fight regardless of the outcome.)

my apologies to all my good friends here in texas. there are a lot of good texans....many are my friends and i've known a lot of good people in the ten years i lived here. unfortunately there are twice as many dirtbags and human filth here. this place is a shit hole and i will be so relieved when i am out of here. i'll be damned if i want to live in a spiderhole where two-thirds of the people are human garbage.
good bye texas. forever.

Everyone should run to a safe haven and abandon the rest of the country.

i ain't wasting my life in a shit hole around braindead white trash.
if there aren't 50,000,000 marching on the streets around DC and the rest of the country tomorrow and until we force a change, then we deserve what we get.
trying to turn a red state blue by voting just ain't gonna happen in the age of dieboldt.

Get mad, get over it, get busy. You may have noticed a recurring theme in many of my posts: it takes more effort than simply voting. Work is the prime ingredient in the recipe.
Educate people. Change minds. Make a difference.
Or you can be a lemming.

So many of us don't have the options you do. We wish you well. Some of us know that you are not only leaving TX but also leaving the country. For that I do envy you. I wish I could be on the outside looking in even 6 months from now.
Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing periodically. Maybe we can come visit you i.e. as a DU group.

I refuse to roll over and give up. There are good people here that are hurting and they'll be hurt even more with Shrub in office.

7. I'm proud I was born in a red state |
|
I'm proud my dad is a farmer (yes, he did go to college) I'm proud my parents are democrats but are not elitists, they are every-day Americans. I'm proud to say I would love to move back to that red state (from the red state I currently live in) I love the open spaces and clean air. I will gladly stay and fight there instead of moving to a blue state, a move that would not help the democrats in any way.

I have so many things I want to say today but I can't put them into words. Not all the red states are as intolerable to live in as people make it sound.
I can say one thing for sure, I am sick of all this red state bashing. It has been going on too long and since last night it has become insane.

I live in Atlanta. It was sad to be one of the first states to go red, but I've met a tremendous number of dedicated progressives here. I don't know if GA will ever go blue, but we can made a huge impact in local politics here.
I miss living in CA, though. But, at least here in GA I don't have to listen to Swartzenagers constant braying about girly men.

18. It's getting real, real hard to keep fighting without some victories. |
|
And I'm not talking Obama & Salazar. Retaking the whole Senate would've made this easier to take.
I've completely lost faith in the American people. They've just reelected a President who made the United States an aggressor nation, and who sent our economy right into the tank.
What exactly does a President have to do to LOSE re-election? Apparently, an awful lot more.

What fulfillment? I am supposed to somehow find fulfillment in a battle that I can never win? How? Please tell me how because I am sick and tired of this hellhole. I am tired of being surrounded by the willfully blind and ignorant. I am tired of trying to get through to them with logic and reason and even pleas for basic human dignity. I am tired of being ignored because I'm a 'godless sinner'. I'm tired of my vote being buried under a landslide every single election. Their isn't even a battle to be won here. And even the small victories that I once took so much pride in have amounted to nothing when compared to the whole. So again, what fulfillment can I find in this because so far I have found none. And really I just want out now. Just six more months and I can get out. Just 6 months.

I just tried to post and was informed that I don't have enough posts to be able to start a new thread. I was able to this morning why not now? Is there some new rule that I am not aware of? Are people with low post count suddently not worth hearing?
