a NEW idea . . . that we have slaughtered . .
can we POSSIBLY get beyond the last election? We should be concentrating our efforts on 2006 and 2008.

2004 is in the past.

CAN I GET AN AMEN HERE!?!?

but in the final analysis, they WON. this whole thing is about the application of resources. {p}
and I believe that our resources would be better spent trying to figure out WHY we lost.

Cause you say final analysis.

Problem is there has not yet been a final analysis, and won't come for a bit yet.

So either you're from the future  or need better facts.

110. Why "we" lost? Republican fraud and incompetence
The best way to perpetuate fraud and incompetence is to deny that it ever happened: make sure that people think that anyone who points it out is trying to pull a fraud of his own.

"You were defrauded? Get over it." That's when Bush and company say.

"We'll investigate this after Bush's inauguration" That's what Rep. Ney (R-OH) says to try to stop investigation now.

How will we be made whole if this continues and Bush is sworn in again?

6. I will move on
When all reasonable claims of election fraud have been explained, and the only avenue left is to put into office who will act for total transparency and accountability in the voting process. And against disenfranchisement.

These are the key issues now.

it has to do with words, and while we're at it, in case anyone forgets - calling noobs 'trolls' is being moderated closely and posts could be deleted.

Overturning this election must remain our top priority.

This administration is going to dedicate all of its power to a more permanent solution to public will than merely controlling the vote. We do not have the luxury of waiting until 2006.

11. Yeah
If we make a stink about possibly hacked voting machines and rampant voter suppression, that'll really screw us up next time because if we don't lose we can't be the victims, and being victims is really what we want. And we might not lose if the voting machines aren't hacked and everyone can vote who tries to.

This will have to come to public scrutiny, and sanction, some day. If it doesn't, it's the principle of accountability, already very ill, which is "slaughtered". You sound like a gambler who swears the fat lady is gonna sing next time. Well, she has finished her song.

50. ugh...is this a bar fight now?
if you believe that we ought to be focused on 2006 and 2008 than no offense, but this forum is called 2004 Election Results and Discussion and so perhaps your ideas for reform belong in the GD or something?

When you make comments like that, it feels as if you started this thread not for productive discussion, but to push some buttons.
By no means do i think you're a troll or freeper, but it seems that you're sick of seeing so much attention on the vote fraud issue. in light of that, perhaps participate in a productive discussion as opposed to one which attempts to trivialize the efforts on this forum. there are other people who believe what you believe and would be more than happy to talk to you about future elections and the direction of the DNC.

just a polite suggestion.

53. Look...
The majority of the Democratic Party agrees with you. So that is where the resources are - GO HELP THEM.

Did you notice that the name of this forum is "2004 Election Results and Discussion" ? Perhaps there are roughly millions of other places where your post would be better appreciated.

If you want to question some of the evidence, I'll back you up 100%. I think some here are way to sensitive to peer review. But no one here is going to appreciate this particular line of reasoning.

57. Either Way, It's Here to Stay.
If the results of this election stand, then the dominant issue for the next decade is going to be the substance and structure of American democracy... Come to think of it, that's probably true even if the results don't stand.

This fish is a little big to be wished away and the stink as it rots is going to be around for a long time.

64. No way is 2004 over!!
I believe fraud took place, based on the exit poll discrepancies. This is not something I can "get over". Do you remember why Nixon resigned? It was because of election malfeasance. Don't let this rest even if Dubya does get inaugurated. We might still get him out of office. If not, we can raise such a stink over black box voting that we may be able to prevent this from happening again.
No AMEN from me, brother!

68. Never get over 2004 election
We can never get over the fraud in the 2004 election. We have to make the memorie last forever for history. If we get over it then that tells them it was Ok and they can go on. If we never get over it, IT GOES DOWN IN HISTORY. My answer is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

NEVER FORGET

69. I'll accept when they accept Roe v. Wade as a done deal
Roe V. Wade is in the past.
Saddam Hussein is in the past (but still, Bush decided we HAD to finish the job)
Certain states decided IN THE PAST that homosexual marriage was valid, but who is trying to overturn that in the present and create a constitutional amendment?

Yeah, right. So if it's in the past, we should let bygones be bygones? That's what the Bush administration is counting on as they slide countless underhanded policies by us.

79. Absolutely not
If we are right that election fraud was the ONLY reason that Kerry (and several Congress people) lost this election (and I am virtually positive that that was the case), then what possible good will it do to let this pass and concentrate on other strategies?

The point is that if we don't do something about the election fraud, the Democratic Party will NEVER win another election. And what do you think are the chances of this Administration and this Congress doing something to correct election fraud?

90. The only way to possibly win in 06 &08 is by figuring out what happened
in 04. Get past it, no way. Get past loosing our right to vote? No way. Wake up and smell the recount. Democrats did not lose. We were not beat. We the Humans were out voted by a select few machines. Realizing that Fact is the only way any election will not be stolen again. We will not fall back asleep. We will point out every discrepancy.

In short, Wake up. Learn your history or you will be doomed to repeat it. this situation is not only the past, it is also the future unless we fix the damn system.

Your saying get over it and move on makes me wounder if your even a democrat at all. more likely a plant by the republican army or the Mainstream media sent here to try and confuse the issues.

I feel stupid for even having replied to your message.

Give Americans their right to vote back or else we will stop reproducing. Lets see how well the war machine works then.

96. I predict a landslide win for Hillary Clinton in 2008
She is already triangulating the issues, just like Bubba.
She is talking about being tougher on terrorists than Bush!
By 2008, majority of Americans will be disgusted about the
high cost of medical insurance and medical bills. Hillary
will win that issue hands down. And the issue that will break
the repug's back will be her insistance on balancing the
budget. That will bring in tons of fiscal conservatives who
are disappointed in Bush's wild spending and taxcuts for the
high income people.

Thanx to hijinx for bringing forth all these strong responses. They have given me renewed hope. Loved that bold opener from Faye and it was all uphill reading from there.

We Americans are being asked to rubber stamp a sham election, the hallmark of tyrannical regimes. All the lofty rhetoric about our great democracy cannot hide the grim reality of what we are seeing now.

I think that our resistance to accepting this Mother of All Lies will help others come to terms with it also. I KNOW I'm in the right "discussion." On Nov 3 I chose Sanity. No more denial. Sleeping better ever since.

WTF-Get Over It??? Chat about who and what in 2006-08? TILT !!!!!
Votergate is the Tea Party...or the Battle on the Beach if you like a more robust image. A line has been drawn in the sand. The teams lining up now...get a front row seat.

112. HERE'S THE ANALOGY
Bush hasn't been inaugurated yet. I think the day he is inaugurated is the day I will personally decide what course to take.

Right now, we are living in a false reality. Here's an analogy:

I have a hundred thousand dollars in the bank, which I saved by blood sweat and tears and honest hard work in order to buy a home. It took me 4 years to save this money, four years of careful spending, living within my means and self denial and careful investing.
Then one day when It's time to buy a house, I go to the atm machine to get a balance and the reciept says I have 10,000. Not enough money for a down payment.

Now, do I berate myself for spending beyond my means and decide that I must re-organize and make a new and better plan for the next four years of saving? Do I just "move-on" and blame myself for not doing the things I should have done? Do I participate in the flase reality that the bank set up for me?

No. I go get a lawyer and find out where the hell my money went. And I don't stop searching until I find it. If I can't find it after a year, then I do everything to make sure that everyone knows that bank is corrupt and steals people's money and that no one should ever use that bank again.

Can anyone finish off my analogy?
