1. We used to call it
...a vote in each pocket He can, on his show, ignore the "conspiracy theorists" and still claim support for the recount effort.....he's learning politics....

7. the phrase that kills me is something like
"not that we expect a recount to change the election results"

which is the new

"not that there's anything wrong with that"

5. Al Franken was chose to read the voter fraud ad that is being aired on
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 11:29 AM by Pepper32
on AAR...

I don't think he is straining to read it though. However, he is the one that kept repeating "move on" after the election and didn't believe there was any fraud. Hmm... maybe he really does believe but was "advised" not to say so. Some strange things have been happening at AAR lately. I'm glad to hear Rhodes discussing fraud again.

On edit: spelling corrected

8. ooops I missed your post
Also al had been the one who was doing the commercials for Ohio Dem's before the election asking for contributions to help win ohio..

I think they did great so they have him on it again.

I am also wondering what's up with AAR,
talk about mixed messages

15. No problem
So, that explains why they chose him. Makes sense. I also think it lends credibility to the whole effort since he didn't believe there was any voters fraud but does support having every vote counted. He doesn't appear partisan. I don't know, it may work.

As for AAR, I agree they have been sending a lot of mixed messages. I think it has a lot to do with Clear Channel.

12. I don't think that his attitude was move on from what I heard. It seemed
more like "I'm going to reserve judgement till we hear some more solid evidence." Maybe I'm wrong, but that was my take.

14. No, I specifically heard him say move on...
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 03:29 PM by Pepper32
But if that's how you interpret it, fine. I know what I heard.

Also, he has criticized Rhodes for discussing voter fraud. Go to their board/blog and ask the people there or read the messages. I'm not the only one that heard this...

On edit: typo fixed

10. yup
al franken, he of the utterly non-reflective headwear, did a spot for the ohio dems saying that the election isn't over, we are counting every vote, here's how to volunteer, etc. he sounds like he is really straining to sound credible. not hilarious, just makes me chuckle.
