Excellent realtime Wisconsin site
www.battlegroundwisconsin.com

The Racine paper has its reporters spread out in various cities reporting live. REAL interesting stuff about Republican poll watchers, first time voters, etc.

The short take, the major cities are flooded with new voters, small towns are business as usual.

1. Here's a sample
Poll watchers at Stephen Bull
By Mark Hertzberg
Journal Times
Representatives of several organizations are closely monitoring voter registration at Fine Arts Stephen Bull Elementary School Tuesday morning. County Board Supervisor Andrew Kallin from Waukesha, wearing a bright orange HAVA (Help Americans Vote Act) shirt and Jim Ferguson, an attorney for the state Republican party who says he was sent here by the Republican National Committee in California, have a list of more than 50 people which is marked at the top “Potential Problem Registrations” and “Challenge These Individuals”

Some poll watchers termed their presence “intimidation” and I went to photograph the scene because of allegations of voter fraud regarding registration drives. I asked Kallin, who was holding the list, and Ferguson what the list represented. They professed ignorance. Kallin said he only knew that it was a list of names to check, but nothing more than that. Ferguson swallowed hard and said he had no “first hand” knowledge about the list. I asked him if he might have second or third hand knowledge about what the list is. He said he did not.

I asked to see the list, read the legends at the top, and told them I thought it was disingenuous of them to tell me they did not know what the list was about when it was so clearly marked. Kallin claimed that he had not read the headings on the paperwork he was holding and using to check voter registrations.

2. Excellent site, thanks
I just voted in Comstock, my new home. A little Lutheran Church with no line at all. Very different from voting in Seattle.
