Task: Create an e-mail that 30% will want to pass along re:Votergate
Resolved: The media is not covering quite possibly THE most important story today: Votergate. So WE have to find guerilla media methods to get the word out ourselves.

How do we approach this? Here is one task, I encourage others to create and carry out others.
Task: To create e-mails that achieve the maximun rate of forwarding we can acheive.
Design Goals: High ease of use, Extremely persuasive, quickly verifiable, quickly understandable, nonpartisan and patriotically motivating people into fast and ongoing action.

Please submit ideas to acheive this.

Question: Can anyone out there create short clips from video and audio from say the Conyers Forum?

2. No, but going by the usual drivel I get,
the ones that get passed on the most either offer ridiculous solutions to non-existant problems or involve cute missing children with phallic-ly symbolic names.

Add a photo of a gigantic pig and you're set!

5. Why not the simplest of things? A flyer!
They can be easily and relatively cheaply mass produced. Put a LARGE headline on so it can be seen from the road and plaster them literally everywhere. Shop windows, phone polls, under windshields?

Large eye-catching headline and no more than 2-3 websites to visit for further info.

Headline? Another stolen election? Did your vote count? Exit Polls Wrong in the USA too! Stop Vote Fraud!

7. Instead of a general one with too many links.. how about a short one that
Edited on Sat Dec-11-04 02:35 AM by henslee
gives a heads up the upcoming Mon. events and that explains that state recounts have happened before. That way the recipient can feel like he/she is really in the know and that the sender is in fact credible. That way he/she will be more likely to respond to senders next email. Heres what I sort of came up with....(plese correct any errors)

Subject line: This Mon is an historical day....

Text: Early Mon. Morning, key election fraud cases will be
filed in OH on behalf of 40 individuals that could very well
impact the Ohio recount by exposing both election errors and fraud.

Finally, election fraud/recount efforts in Ohio will no longer
be ignored by the mainstream media!

Here's the rest of Mon. schedule:

At 10:30 a.m., a press conference being held by Senator
Conyers, Sen. Nadler, Jesse Jackson and others
will update the press on the Ohio voter fraud situation.

Also, an injunction will be requested to delay the
tramsittal of OH's electoral votes to its electors,
subject to the completion of a full state recount.

The last time a full state Pres. recount happened was
Kennedy vs. Nixon in 1960. The state was Hawaii.
Kennedy challenged the results and here's how they
resolved the elector deadline vs. recount conflict...
They created a second set of electors in addition to the
first, which had Nixon as victor. The new electors were to
award the votes to whomever won the recount which ended up
being Kennedy -- so it was this second set of electors who went
to D.C on Jan. 12 of 1961.

This 1960 recount did not effect the Pres. results but in 2004,
though a longshot, it just may. Either way, counting all the
votes is a good thing for democracy.

Subject: If you believe in fair, corruption-free elections and a free press -- please forward this message to your friends and family

Dear Friends,

The link below, The House Forum on Ohio Election Voting Procedures, contains a CSPAN video of a House Judiciary Forum on the election irregularities in Ohio and elsewhere on November 2nd. Members of the House Judiciary Committee held this forum last Wednesday. However, the mainstream media did not cover this important issue.

There is a large body of evidence suggesting there was widespread election fraud and voter suppression (especially in Ohio), which occurred on November 2nd.

The integrity of our voting process, and therefore the fundamental basis of our democracy, is at risk.

House Forum on Ohio Election Voting Procedures (2004):
Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) et al., "Preserving Democracy - What Went Wrong in Ohio"

If you don't have Real Player, please click here for a free download in order to view this video.

Things you can do:
1. Very Important: CALL your Senators and Representatives and tell them, if in their best judgment, fraud was executed on November 2nd, ask them to refuse to certify the slate of electors from Ohio until the recount effort has determined whether the will of the people was reported on November 3rd.

2. Tell Congressman Conyers that we want this issue to be fully investigated. Click here to fill out the feedback form.

3. Email the mainstream media, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, etc. and tell them you want them to cover this story. (By the way, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann/Countdown has been covering this story).

4. Educate yourself on this issue.
Here are some useful websites:

Excellent email notice. Very positive and speaks to all the current issues. That'll grab everyone out there who thinks this whole thing stinks but that they're the only one questioning it. I really believe there are tons of patriots across the nation thinking it's hopeless and what can they do all by themselves.

is the subject field

I wrote an email about voter fraud over a month ago that is still floating around the country.

the subject was

"something BIG is about to happen"

it was a quote from Susan Sarandon on the Bill Maher show. For whatever reason, it worked.

13. Here's the email I have in the National Media Blaster "Friend" section
<My goal now is at least as much to inform voters through the "tell a friend" function of the blaster. Any suggestions are welcome. The blaster(s) are always a "work in progress".>
http://www.independentmediasource.com/voteintegrity_emailothers.htm

Hi,

I’m emailing you to ask that you join me in urging our national media to cover the 2004 Presidential Election problems. These problems are so serious that they have put the results into question. At the request of 12 Congressmen, the GAO (the Congressional investigative department) has agreed to investigate the 57,000 reported irregularities. THIS IS NOT A DEMOCRAT, REPUBLICAN OR INDEPENDENT ISSUE. It is an issue that must concern all voters. It calls into question the results of the 2004 election, and potentially jeopardizes our future elections. Please go to the url below and send the following letter to our national mainstream media.
http://www.independentmediasource.com/voteintegrity.htm

P.S. If you would like to know more about all this, please watch the 12-8-04 Conyers Forum online (link below). (You probably didn’t even hear about this important hearing from the national media - that’s a good indication of just how bad this lack of coverage is.)

You can also read short summaries (or the full articles) of under-reported election irregularities/potential fraud stories, and see for yourself how the National Media has been neglecting this important story (link below).

Sincerely,

-----------------------------------------------------------

URGENT REQUEST! PLEASE COVER THE NEW CONYERS FORUM IN OHIO ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 13TH.

On December 8, Rep. John Conyers hosted a congressional forum in which verifiable evidence of vote suppression and compelling indications of vote manipulation in Ohio were detailed by panels of witnesses. One witness who previously served as an international elections inspector recounted incidents in Ohio that would never have been permitted in El Salvador’s elections. Yet we ignore these disturbing reports from within our own borders?

C-SPAN and several radio stations carried the forum live. Concurrently, mainstream media covered stories such as Basketbrawl, Martha Stewart’s incarceration and Scott Peterson’s sentencing hearing. One day later, a search on CNN.com returns no hits regarding this forum and the only mention at MSNBC.com is on Keith Olbermann’s blog. ABC.com has a short story, but the headline does not appear on their home page.

I am baffled by the media silence and appalled by the republican absence in this critical moment in American democracy. This may well be the least partisan yet most important issue facing our nation today. We cease to function as a representative republic when we cannot guarantee that the will of the people has been upheld.

As you know, the national news media are rapidly losing credibility and audiences. Many people simply don't trust the media any more, because the media have failed to fulfill their responsibility to investigate and report genuine hard news. The 2004 election provides you with an unprecedented opportunity to get the scoop on your competition, with a story of national, even global importance. If you choose to ignore this story, you do so at your peril, because your audience will be judging you on this, and will seek out information from other outlets if it's not available on yours.

I urge the media to begin full and prominent coverage of the investigations into the 2004 election and the process to reform our voting systems.

16. But we need more then just an email blast (which is a good start)
Because in addition to getting the word out, we will need to get to take action. Not sure whether this is a national march or what but we need to be able to demonstrate how many there are of us, once we get the word out. Think Ukraine folks - think millions in the streets. Of course they had the attention of their national media thanks to our government supporting their efforts for a re=vote. We unfortunately, have the opposite situation here.

Presently, there are hundreds of groups out there trying to "do something" but we need to link them all together into one, major movement. The 51 Capitals marches for example was a good idea but they were not able (as far as I can tell) to reach enough people to make this a huge event.

Progressive Democrats of America met with 45 different groups on Sunday. My suggestion is we link with them and we brainstorm together on bringing all of the groups to one massive project.

We need the mailing lists from moveon.org and truthout.org to support us. We need capital to pay for the advertising campaign- if they won't cover the story then we'll buy the coverage damn it. We need a major voice- someone well known with lots of followers who can get the cameras out when we need them (Jesse is a great start but we need more), we need celebrities to support his effort and we need all of this immediately if we want to make an impact before January.

An email blast is a good thing-but not nearly big enough to do what we need to accomplish. Think of what we are doing here- we're not trying to rally people behind a cause- we are rallying people around DEMOCRACY and the fact that it has been hijacked by our government. This is a HUGE THING guys- bigger then anything any of us have dealt with in our lifetimes. Think Watergate was big? Votergate trumps it.

Any ideas?

Yes. And you have to make flyers, posters, radio announcements etc. to get the message to the (normal) people...

Concerning the advertising campaign: We are working on it, please join our DU media action forum:

http://www.1-2-free-forums.com/mf/index.php?mforum=mtf

We also try to get the infos to the celebs - what about if Will Smith would see the Jesse Jackson speech on the Conyers-video? What about Matt Damon, what about Robbie Williams (which is really pissed of by this president)? Today he is in a big show in germany - he could spread the word... ;-)

Please join our forum - and get integrated.

23. You're right. But the first step is to make them aware..
Edited on Sat Dec-11-04 08:48 PM by tommcintyre
Amazingly, only 20% even realize there could be a problem. They won't march until they are at least aware of the possibility. Once they are aware, it will be much easier to get them to act. We can't count on the MSM (although we can keep on pressuring them); so I am all in favor of us becoming the media ("tell a friend" emails, etc.). Ideally, we should send them a series of letters, gradually moving them along.

We should all work together, but its hard since we are so non-centralized.

My email to him that showed him this was pretty simple:

I want you to read something, and while you do, please keep these 2 things in mind:

1) If Kerry (or Hillary) "won" by 3 million votes and the House Republican members of the Judiciary committee wrote this exact letter, how would you feel?

2) If you look at the age & computer savvy of the typical Democratic voter vs the typical Republican voter - how long can you be sure that the election won't be hacked in favor of a Democratic landslide - unless we make sure the system has the right checks & balances now.

Ok, now read this letter and tell me what you think

20. "angrygirl" is circulating, got it today...

23 November 2004
An Open Letter to the U.S. Mainstream Media

In the past few weeks I have been called a crackpot, a conspiracy theorist, and, worst of all, a traitor. I am, along with millions of other Americans and international observers, one of those people who believes the 2004 presidential election was stolen. I am not some paranoid, bored weirdo. I have better things to do than pursue this voting issue.

For one, I despise politics. I don't like the players. I believe that those who seek power are precisely those who cannot be trusted with it. Nor do I care for the games they play, games that all too often swing in favor of the bullies. The games are always cruel and the outcomes hurt the innocent and ignorant most of all.

But recently I have felt totally abandoned by "the system." I never liked the system -- no working person ever really does -- but to some extent I believed the American system gave me certain privileges. Like wearing an anti-war T-shirt without fear of getting arrested. Like putting a Kerry bumper sticker on my car without worrying my tires will get slashed. Like writing a blog without wondering when the Secret Service will show up. Like being able to vote my conscience without thugs trying to stop me.

These may not be life-critical freedoms, such as are denied to millions in Sudan or Iraq, but for me they define the so-called free world. Countries in the free world have freedom of speech. Countries in the free world hold open elections and not ones where the votes are counted by openly partisan private companies. Countries in the free world do not attempt to disenfranchise minority voters.

So when the government and the media ignored the collective research and reporting of tens of thousands of bloggers claiming election fraud -- many of them computer scientists, statistical analysts, and mathematicians -- and called us reckless and arrogant conspiracy theorists wearing tinfoil hats, it was very insulting. And also scary.

Scary because basically we're just trying to be good American citizens. Here we were reporting a potential crime, one with means, motive, opportunity, and a heck of a lot of evidence, but the media didn't care. And if the big media don't care, then the great majority of Americans will never learn enough to care. And what may be the biggest crimes in American history might go unheeded and unpunished. And that's scary.

When the common beliefs of millions of people are suppressed and censored, a resistance movement usually starts. And the more persecuted a group, the greater the loyalty among its members. When half a country is so starkly divided, civil strife can only be just around the corner. All one needs are the right economic conditions.

And the "perfect storm" may be right around the corner: The federal deficit is at an all-time high. The war in Iraq is draining billions of dollars a month from our nation's coffers, with no end in sight. Increasing numbers of high-paying jobs are going overseas. The total debt of households today is a full 85% of the U.S. economy. The dollar is hitting new lows against other currencies.

We have the highest incarceration rate in the world, with mere drug users accounting for the largest increase. Our health care system is in shambles, with record numbers of uninsured. Educational grants are being cut. The poor are getting poorer, the middle class is shrinking by leaps and bounds, and the rich are getting richer.

What will happen to America when the shit hits the fan? If we are so deeply divided now, blaming and distrusting our neighbors, how will we react then?

And this is why it is so important to openly review this past election. If we do not, millions of votes will be disenfranchised. Millions of angry, frustrated adults will be without closure, their faith in American democracy broken and their trust in their government shattered.

As such, I urge the mainstream media to bring the election fraud issues to the fore. Your duty as a patriot demands it.
