Rep Group withdraws suit for recount of amendment 4 in FL
Amendment 4 is the gambling/slots amendment and this suit was filed right after election day due to questionable absentee ballots, so a republican chair of no casinos filed a lawsuit for a recount. I am now reading they are dropping the lawsuit, which leads me to question why. This is the second suit dropped by the republican party in fl since election. Does anyone have any other info on this? I am just wondering if the repubs are being pressured because they know if the ballots are counted for amendment 4 than wouldn't they also have to record votes for president by hand also? Link below.

Let me know if link doesn't work.

1. they have too much to lose
by having a recount, I guess they didnt tell their hackers to bother with this gambling amendment. Recounting will create too much other information to go public with.

2. You only count the votes for the race/measure that's being
recounted.

"But state Rep. Randy Johnson, who chairs No Casinos, said Thursday that a victory in the lawsuit wouldn't have changed the outcome of the election." Don't know who'd pay if the election results weren't overturned; usually it's the loser, but I've never lived in Florida.

Eh. What was the first recount that was dropped?

4. The first suit was dropped by the republican hispanic community
I have been unable to bring up any other info other than there was a suit filed the same week as this suit but dropped shortly after.

3. Good point
The Repugs will shoot down their own legislation if it goes against party line. I know that sounds partisan, but I'm in that kind of mood today. How many times have you seen the GOP march in line regardless of what their individual beliefs are?

It's fascism...

5. Sounds good but no, the recount would only be for...
the race in question. Recounting is not an easy task.

7. I think an anti-gambling group was suing
This gambling proposition has been defeating since 1978 and was again this year. Suddenly the repugs "found" 97,000ish votes giving them enough to win. An anti-gambling group was suing. I'd be surprised if they dropped it. Also, senate hopeful, D-Betty Castor, vowed to request a recount when she lost, but suddenly conceded. I think something's brewing.

8. Why do you think Castor backed out if it's something that would
reveal Republican fraud? Is she old guard, afterall?
