Might I respectfully suggest to The Honorable Mr Conyers.... |
|
That he bring U.S. Marshals with him to Ohio, and ask them to sort it out? Wasn't it the U.S. Marshals who reigned in the Wild West? Wasn't it the U.S. Marshals who stood behind that cute child in Selma? (still my favorite Rockwell) After all, " For over 200 years,U.S. Marshals and their Deputies have served as the instruments of civil authority by all three branches of the U.S. government." Your thoughts? -Hoot

. . .point to the country, the world and the thugs who seem to be in charge of the republican party that we will no longer tolerate civil liberty violations in this country.

Whose oath of office included allegiance to the Constitution. Apparently it changed in 1988, I'm trying to track it down.

Does he have the authority? Do they have jurisdiction? What a picture that would make!
Even with how owned the MSM is, they would not be able to resist a great photo-op.

have probable cause and they should be able to open an investigation if Federal law was broken, including Constitutional enforcement.
Marshals have broad powers including the authority to deputize.
The bad news is they report to Asscroft, but he wouldn't dare interfere with a Marshal and have it witnessed by a Congressman. The MSM would have to report that, front page headline.

On edit: Still haven't found the Marshal oath of office, any pointers?

I have been trying to figure out how an investigation could proceed given the seemingly high number of sympathetic souls Bush has at the FBI.

I was thinking along the lines of how to get the investigation going and I just had a DUH moment and thought I'd put it out there.
I'd like to hear from some more people too. Maybe some lawyers?

17. Spooks Worried About CIA Housecleaning |
|
You're right about the challenge of finding Marshals loyal to the constitution but the recent housecleaning at the CIA has a lot of career federal law enforcement officials worried. They remember how it was under Clinton and the first Bush administrations and know that if probable cause is there, they must act. Protecting their jobs becomes priority 1 when it doesn't conflict with the law.
