WE MARCH... OR WE LOSE the call has gone out....
Please read though.. I am a 34 yr old engineer living outside DC, I worked on construction and alternative energy engineering years ago, but with little funding in that lately I have been in real estate to get by. I was at the rally held by redefeatbush.com today....

I hear some people say thing on DU like waiting for leaders, or this fact will help our case... or I know what will work... and I just want to make SURE you all know that those brainstorming activities are good and fun even, but in reality, there is only 1 sure way to make this happen.. (barring the media having a change of heart, Airforce 1 crashing... lol) PEOPLE IN THE STREETS PROTESTING FOR FAIR ELECTIONS!

I went downtown today (12/11), to the rally... only a few dozen showed (some Larouche's, couple Freeptypes, couple of kooks and bunch of "normal" protesters). I arrived strong and ready to fight, but so few showed. I had brought with me a 30ft long 6ft wide bolt of orange cloth. I was planning on having many people hold it... but the crowd was too small and I never unfurled it. We all knew there were way too few. A MSM reporter showed up (really, its DC)and interviewed a couple speakers (the head of redefeat and the reverend from Ohio). All they could say was that they were from a news network that goes by 3 letters (CNN ABC CBS NBC take your pick). My point here is, if we had 1000's we would BE ON the news now! But the speakers were passionate, and the crowd fed off it and gained some strength. As I stood there listening, I trembled with fear and excitement,it was larger than life, gonna change the world. I watched as tourists walked by, and as the secret service circled us... I could see the snipers on the roof of the White House. We must conquer our fear and stand as 1, or fall as many. This is not a message of defeat, it is a call to battle! if you are waiting for the call, it has come, I will lead you if you see no other leaders... but I heard the call from others... From John Kerry, who said many times that this election is in the hands of the voters, I heard Jesse Jackson call for the people to take to the streets... I heard the call from congressmen and women that said it is time to mobilize, I heard new leaders like William Pitt from DU,journalist Wayne Madsen and David Lytel from redefeatbush but mostly, I heard the call of the truth that compelled me to travel downtown, stand in the shadow of the huge inaugural scaffold they are building, across from the White House itself (and yes he was home from his physical) and protest the most powerful man in the world.... Our leaders can not do it alone.. I can not do it alone, and you can not do it alone.. but WE can!

So I say to you.. join me here in DC, (NOW, or plan on sometime around the 3rd, when the new congress is sworn in... to the 6th, when the electors votes are recorded, or protested, you know how to stay informed). WE NEED TO BE SURROUNDING THE CAPITOL!! In the mean time, gather your strength, spread the word....

THE VOTING RIGHTS REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN!! (this is not a drill.. I repeat, this is not a drill) TRUE FREEDOM IS ON THE MARCH!

***note*** I suggest a slower more subtle approach to people.. you got a few weeks to get them packing for DC. You are not crazy.. it happened... they laughed at Columbus when he said the earth is round, guess what.. he was right!

ps.. wheres Eminem? .. we need that mosh downtown!

1. So true. I went to a rally in SF today. Got 100 people and lots of Boxer
petition signatures (please support GAO invesigation). A start, but disapointing numbers. Hoping tommorrow is much larger.

3. Jamboi and Griffy...
I'm hoping the turnout for the 51 capitol marches tomorrow are larger, too... I'll be there in Sacramento.

Thanks for the stirring call to action, Griffy! I wish that message could be blasted from the rooftops.

5. You're absolutely right. Anyone think we can start networking
with what exists of a liberal media (AAR and more prominent blogs)? Would Jackson and any other prominent politician be willing to help organize and give some name recognition to the effort? I really do think more people would show if they actually thought the numbers would be substantial. Until we learn not to sit by passively, we are pretty much doomed to irrelevance.

6. Forget the cameras, forget MnM ...march because YOU care
Edited on Sun Dec-12-04 10:47 AM by Iceburg
Good post Griffy. Keep the faith.

In Ottawa (a small town by American standards -- pop~ 600,000) we had thousands of people came out to protest *'s visit on Nov 30th. (while temperatures hovered in the low 30's)

Most of the Nov 30th attendees did not belong to any organized group ... they marched as individuals, individuals who cared

They cared about the injustice, death, horror and humiliation inflicted on thousands by a single man ... they marched to protest his evil plan

They did not march for the cameras -- no one knew cameras would be there. They marched for one reason, one reason alone ... they marched because they cared.

7. We rallied in Denver yesterday.
Same numbers about 100. Even though the numbers were small, I think it helped get the word out to many about the concerns of the election. While I agree we definitely need bigger numbers, we have to try to get discouraged about the small numbers. We have to start somewhere, you know what I mean? (I'm saying this because I DID feel discouraged, but you can't let that get you down, or stop you from continuing to take action.) I hope the numbers will be greater today.

11. We should re-enact the 1965 march from Selma Al to Montgomery
http://www.africanamericans.com/SelmaMarch.htm. If there was a march on Washington during the time between the swearing in of Congress on the 3rd and opening the electoral votes on the 6th it could potentially have a huge impact. People and activists groups could come from all over the country.

15. What about our supporters in Hollywood?
None seem to be speaking out. Perhaps they're unaware of all that we know? Do they need to be informed?

16. I don't think they are aware of the events in Ohio and elsewhere
I think one of them would have at least mentioned it somewhere. I haven't seen or heard anything at all from people like Springsteen or Streisand. There are probably millions of people who do not have a clue there were any election problems at all.
I know any time I mention it outside the internet, I am just met with blank looks and comments like, "what are you talking about, the election is over with"

20. Hollywood etc. will step forward when they are asked

For now, it is up to us. THIS IS OUR COUNTRY. I went to Sacramento yesterday, we had about 400-500. Today we marched 7 blocks from the Federal Building to the Capitol and had a rally outside the capitol. About 250 showed up for that. Here is the shocker, the average age had to be 45.

Young people, those of you going to college, you have the perfect place to launch a major movement in this country. Your time is NOW. Your future depends upon what you do today. Step up and make your voice heard.

17. How about Michael Moore?
Maybe he is more interested in the Oscars right now.
Still after all the work he put in to get out the vote I would have thought that he would be more interested in this case.
He does post articles about it on his website but no statements from him yet.
The Oscars again, might not want to spoil his chances!

24. Problem is, nobody even knows fraud happpened, thanks to MSM;
it's a catch-22; in order to get the crowds we have to have to MSM to get the word out. Americans are so apathetic that it will take sustained news exposure to the fact that this happened before most of them will care.
