I have never heard of one person saying that they responded to an exit poll, or that their friend or brother did. There are 60k DUers here, the large majority probably voted, surely someone must have been exit-polled, right?

1. No
I've been voting for 30 years and have never been exit polled and don't know anyone who has.

3. Would you mind telling me where?
I am trying to collect data on what precincts were picked to poll.

I know that in my area, Alachua County, they only went to one precinct in Jonesville, which is one of the most rural and conservative areas in the whole county. I am trying to find out if the selection of polling places was biased toward W? If it was, then Kerry must have been doing very well before the flipped the vapor votes.

5. Texas. Travis County Precinct 340
Historically a blue box with a moderate turnout. Kerry carried it handily in November (as he did in March... although Dean had the plurality in the precinct caucus that evening; a symptom of low turnout for the caucus and my efforts at dragging a few neighbors there.)

6. How does your precinct compare to the rest of your county
Alachua County is a Democratic stronghold surrounded by much more conservative counties. However, they only polled one precinct and it was one of the most conservative ones. I'm curious if they did the same thing where you live?

7. We are also a blue county in a red sea
By and large, Central Austin, which is heavily Democratic and tends to have high turnouts, dominates. The east side, which is historically Hispanic and African-American (although that is changing) also votes Democratic but tends to have low turnout. I'm in the southwest part of the county, which looked like it was going to be abandoned to the Republicans (the Repub state rep in my district ran unopposed.) However, we surprised everybody by electing a Democratic constable, who was running against the state rep's brother for an open seat.

The election results for the county broken down precinct by precinct are online at http://www.co.travis.tx.us/county_clerk/election/results.asp

4. I was.
A Local TV station. I filled out a form for them.
The first question had to do with the bu$h campaign topics of the day, Iraq war, taxes, etc. The last choice was 'Other'. I wrote in "All of the above".

8. I was exit polled on election day
I went up to the guy and asked what he was doing. He told me and showed me the papers he had. When I came out I approached him, he was sitting in a chair at a table. I signed the paper and marked the correct responses. There was the list of reasons for voting the way you did. I remember asking him, "If you don't ask everyone coming out and you wait for us to approach you how do you know if more republicans or Democrats are more willing to come here and answer your questions?" He just said it all works out.
