Scarborough ridicules Bill Moyers on msnbc blog

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6330851/

-snip-

So the former CBS and PBS newsman — who served in Democratic Administrations — is now interested in an independent press that shows no favoritism to any political party.

Gee. That's a relief, because if one were to judge Mr. Moyers by his own words though his career, this self-righteous reporter (who claims to practice the purist form of journalism) could be accused of being little more than a shrill political hack for the Democratic Party.

Let's go back two years after the American voters gave Republicans control of the Senate in the 2002 midterm elections. The week after Democrats suffered that stunning loss, Moyers went on a left-wing rant that reminds one more of James Carville than Walter Cronkite.

The PBS host of "NOW" launched into a rabid screed and declared that "for the first time in the memory of anyone alive, the entire federal government — the Congress, the Executive, the Judiciary — is united behind a right-wing agenda for which George W. Bush believes he now has a mandate."

Moyers went on to declare that Republicans would use their power to oppress women, rob from the poor to feed the rich, rape the environment, and push for secrecy "on a scale that you cannot even imagine."

-snip-

1. Bill Moyers is a real journalist, unlike Joe Scabrous.
And I don't think anybody ever found any dead interns in his office, either.

2. Why do you guys even watch Scabrous?
Waste of time. The only time I ever watch is when Pat Buchanan is on.

4. Ahhh... Squint is just pissed that his ratings
weren't up 128 percent like Olbermann's!

(Floatie hearts for Olbermann: :loveya:)

I started to watch that trashy show to see only this segment, but changed my mind. Thanks for watching it so I didn't have to! :)

Can we get to Moyers to tell him about the "new" media and us bloggers and how we can do wonders? He would be a great mentor for us and help us keep our :tinfoilhat: issues to a minimum (in other words, he can vet us for publication).

5. Check out what Scarborough quotes vs. what he paraphrases
All the meat of his accusations aren't based on quotes but on Tail-Kisser Joe's statements on what he thought Moyers to be saying. Assuming he isn't lying, he could be wrong. You would think that having the transcript available to quote some inconsequential stuff, he could also prove the real alarming accusations by quoting more. He knows he can't, so he paraphrases. What a dick.

Where Joe's railing on the huge deficits and adding $2 trillion on top of it for SS reform and more later to bail the reform out. Congress spending your money like a pothead in an all-night grocery.

Sounds a bit like a rabid screed, and not far from a left? wing rant.

Sounds like joe needs a vacation, cept he just had one.

15. Scarborough says Democrats suffered stunning loss in 2002
Yeah, with a little help from our friends at Diebold and ES&S no doubt. Then he goes on in the blog to say Bush got more votes than any candidate in history. Well, we know for sure how THAT happened.
A lot of Rovian magic tricks, smoke and mirrors...

20. That "more votes than any candidate in history" nonsense is a lot of smoke
and mirrors. He got more votes than any candidate in history, because there were more people voting than any election in history. He also, I believe, got more votes AGAINST him than any candidate in history! LOL

It's no surprise that his show and blog entries always seem to be lacking facts and logic.

19. But there's so much truth
<<Moyers went on to declare that Republicans would use their power to oppress women, rob from the poor to feed the rich, rape the environment, and push for secrecy "on a scale that you cannot even imagine.">>

That doesn't sound like bias. It sounds like truth....just look at the Republican record. Joe's just as guilty as the rest of them.

21. Scarborough can't even bring himself to call Limbaugh a "journalist"
(which I don't believe he actually is). Listen to this:
<snip>
"...in the media world, liberals like Moyers get journalism awards, while cultural megaforces like Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge get served extra helpings of scorn and ridicule from media elites."

Oh please. Limbaugh doesn't get journalism awards because 1.) He isn't a journalist; and 2.) his show doesn't meet even minimal journalistic standards for honesty and even-handedness. The type of problem that occured with Dan Rather, for instance, could NEVER occur to Limbaugh, because EVERY show is full of questionable sources and non-vetted documentation! LOL

This guy is mixed up.
